King of New York is a better movie than Scarface

It was pretty corny and unoriginal, the visual and fashion style of the era didn't help. I can't say I was very impressed by it as gangster movies go.

I found KONY pretty ridiculous and nonsensical.

The late Roger Ebert called the movie "half-written" which I think is a fair criticism. (He gave it two stars compared to four stars for Scarface).

Both are classics in their own right. Personally, I can’t put one above the other. But I will say that Scarface has more intensity, where KoNY has a much stellar cast, better cinematography, and better pacing.

I've said it for years that Scarface is an awful movie but rappers loved it so much for the come up aspect of it that they held it in high regard and it became a cult classic. A whole bunch of white guys pretending to be Cuban gangsters with horrible accents
