I get sprites aren't feasible, but the game looks like shyt. They should say fukk it and flagrantly bite what ASW is doing. That's as good as it gets of you're not 2D.

that’s cool if you’re hype for visual mediocrity, but this is the same shyt that sent em to the grave.

Not really, KOF14 looked bare, it had no real artstyle. This has an artstyle, an acquired taste, but it has an artstyle.

SF5 was visual mediocrity and it did just fine because people were more concerned with how the game played than how it looked.

:russ: Bruh I don’t think you know what artstyle means. The only thing fixed here is they got rid of the lanky ass chinese proportions. Go look at the KoF production art, it had an amazing artstyle, and it’s obvious the team can’t translate it to 3D. This is just by the numbers default unreal semi-cel shaders.

You can say you hate SFV aesthetic and that’s cool, but it was well done and executed. You can’t force someone to like certain art direction, but i liked the SFV aesthetic.

SFV has the luxury of being synonymous with fighting games, KoF doesnt. If any other AAA fighting game company released something of this fidelity today it would’ve got roasted.

Finally got into beta and few thoughts

Good
- Graphically It’s looks better compared to the online vids
- Feels fluid and a lot of freedom in combos
- Online training & net code is solid
- High level of complexity

Bad
- Aesthetically from UI to characters is still meh
- Auto combos, let me turn that shyt off
- Naming conventions for special moves is retarded
- A LOT time to invest, to understand and utilize everything

Overall
This is game the FGC has been begging for; graphics don’t matter, HIGH skill ceiling, diverse roster & black characters. If this game isnt alongside SFV, Strive & Tekken in 1-2 years time, this community is fake as hell. It’s the game Max, Chen, Dale, DSP, r/kappa & Sanford have been bytching when they complained about SFV.

I told ya ass the gfx looked fine enough. Easily comparable to SFV's. I disagree with you on the UI being meh. I'm not sure what you mean about the naming conventions for special moves and investment into fighting games is never a bad thing, that's just the fukking breaks. Otherwise, I agree with you on everything else. I definitely don't like folks whoring auto-combos either. I get their place and they actually made it a slight tad more variable/not as brain dead and they scale to shyt, but still, it's annoying, but otherise understandable accessibility addition that fighting games have had to make the concession for over the years. Also, while it helps with memory of climax specials all being universally the same input, some folks had easier/more intuitive inputs for theirs (like Blue Mary's) and I wish you still had the option to do it the old ways as well.

UI is meh when you consider everything beyond the HUD; character select, vs screen to overall presentation. KoF in universe is basically their Olympics lean heavy into the whole world is watching aspect. How does Capcom understand that in CvS2 but not SNK?

Graphics are still bad and a generation behind, but I can admit it looks better than the compressed YT vids. Fine enough graphics though dont make you competitive outside of South America. As for aesthetic vs SFV that’s a matter of choice, so I’m not even gonna argue that.

Special Move
EX special Move
Super Special Move
Max Special
Climax Special Move:comeon:

Investing in a FG isn’t bad but if you’re a new comer you’re getting whipped when auto combos no longer work. You have,

3 different types jumps
3 different defense mechanics(excluding DPs)
5 different gauges to manage
3 characters to master across 39 matchups

That’s a lot for a casual to switch to.

All that said It has everything feature wise you want in a fighting game, and hope it’s able to have the longevity of other games.

Beta gameplay looks really good to me. Still feel the graphics are so-so. Krohnen looks good, i didn' like the design at first but in game looks cool.

The Wall
Team Garou and Team Southtown announced as the first two DLC teams releasing in March and May:blessed:

The redesigns look phenomenal Geese and Billy looking like they straight out of Wall Street and they gave my breh Yamazaki his white fur from 2002:banderas: now he can grab his crown for most drip by a fighting game character knocking Dudley from third strike and Miguel and his fur from Tekken respectively.:umad:

Yeah I been Stannis avi since GOT started but the white fur can’t be denied I got to rep Yakuza Pimp going forward :smugdraper:
