Here's how the story goes...


We were in Silver Spring



I was down for a wedding and my girl and I were (drunkenly) walking back to our hotel from a bar after having a bad argument. These little niglets were apparently having a party at our hotel and a bunch were congregated across the street. My girl walked ahead of me through this crowd of nikkas and I could hear that they were saying something but I couldn't quite make out what it was. Living in New Orleans this wasn't anything new per se', she knew how to be cordial without being inviting or rude just to end the interaction. Well I walk through and I can hear someone say "nah that's not his girl that nikka gay".

So I was like "nikka what?"



And I swear these little runts really came out of the woodwork. I think 11 is a conservative estimate, they were everywhere. It wasn't a bad fight all things considered, them nikkas didn't really *want* to fight, I lost my phone in the scrum but my girl wouldn't believe I had just been in a brawl when I told her. Her ass was damn near in bed when I got to the hotel.




Love DC though, coming for Howard Homecoming.

Sounds about right lol. These lil bad ass DC teens usually like to cluster into big mobs and shyt. I remember when that shyt used to be a major problem in Chinatown for a good amount of years, especially near the Metro station on 7th & H across the street from the Starbucks. Still happens every now and then but not as often as it used to.

I still view Wale as the ambassador for the overall DMV despite city nikkas hatin on him for being a grown MAN (Maryland Ass nikka). It's whatever tho, he still puts on for us hard even when he's living outta town. Just like OG/homeboy Oddisee

PG and MoCo rappers are making a big name for themselves lately and usually don't get into as many career-(p)ending fukk shyt as alotta DC rappers for the most part. I feel like Swipey would've been the closest to a clear cut leader DC would've got. But like I said before, the fukk shyt ain't too far away in the DMV RIP to the kid, I actually liked him a lil more than Shy.

I don't really listen to alotta shyt from across the river in NoVa, but Black Cobain had some nice material earlier this decade and the last. Dude did sounded like Wale a lil too much tho.

the scene is so fragmented, ive never had a discussion where one artist was the clear cut unanimous choice across the city. i feel like wale was the last one, and even then crabs were complaining that hes not really from dc tho
