I think it was said that Kim Il-Sung was beloved, but then with Jong-Il, the Army didn't like Jong, but fear him. With Jong-Un, while he is there leader, the army itself doesn't really respect him at all; which is why he has been ruthless. I don't think being a female is a problem, but she isn't part of the family that made North Korea, so she probably stands a chance at being coup'd out.
