The ESPN thing is a smaller part of Disney as a whole. Disney is laying off thousands of people. Their movies ain't hittin, the theme parks got issues, they are spending a ton on Disney+ and they are taking losses on that venture and ESPN is becoming a loser for them as well because people keep cutting cable and yet they are paying billions for rights fees.

Meanwhile.. the Disney stock is in the tank also. $90, I just checked today. When they announced Disney+ a few years ago the stock was at $150

I don't see the baseball show working. I gave it a try, I know all the players they were discussing I just didn't think the panel was that great. They were all over the place and they weren't really all that funny or entertaining. It is what it is.

ESPN shyt is purely finance. They see the public responds no worse to shyt takes and minstrelsy than to even halfway thoughtful commentary and reporting, so what's the point. In the past there was a centralized body of news and criticism that ensured some quality control, but this era is all about downward democratization and ultra-toxic capitalism. No one feels the need to pretend anymore. It used to be "we'll trade you a quality product for your money." Now it's "what if we just shyt in your hand, but triple our fee?" And somehow, the public is fine eating the shyt.

Yep, and like I said the other day, Jalen Rose making $3mil a year is kinda crazy. Not that he's not good, but does he really have the following to warrant $3 mil a year.

Nobody is going to miss not hearing his 30 sec nba opinions. Not saying that to be mean, but they will fill it with someone making 25% of that salary

Cam and Mase was spitting too much facts about Skip and ESPN. Skip always needs a black presence in order for his shtick to work while ESPN feels that they can probably get just as good coverage and insight for the fraction of the price. All of the staff that were let go was B level talent or below. Even Marcellus Wiley was stating that Skip will probably get another Black person to go against because he needs that dynamitic to be successful. Podcasting change the game and people wants to hear different views than the standard uptick analyst on tv who may have a bias objective to push.

yeah alot of these dudes been there for years and were prob making crazy salaries. Kolber, Young, Hasselback, and Johnson were all on Monday Night Countdown no one under 40 cares about those boring countdown shows anymore

hell the only reason i watch college game day is because of corso, herbie and the environment , just like inside the nba if it wasn't for ernie, barkley, kenny and shaq I'd never tune in

cam and mase are refreshing even t hough they both almost 50 they resonate with the youth and as well the older crowd. They say it how it is. I mean espn will never touch on that jalen green video , but cam and mase dont give a damn and gave us good laughs.
