trade is meh for both sides to be honest....the Bills dont have a QB...paying big money for a back seems kind of dumb. Mccoy was way more valuable to Philly than he is for Buffalo....but Chip think's his system can work with younger players who dont cost much.

It'd be dumb to pay Murray big money, but Shady is a Marshawn/AD level game changer PLUS he's only 26. They traded a hurt 2nd year LB for a perennial all pro level back. At least haggle for a first day pick. Theres no way I can say this is anything else than an L for Philly. People gotta stop acting like RBs are worthless. Some are interchangeable, but he's one of those that ain't. The talented ones are valuable as hell.

with the QB situation in Buffalo I dont see Mccoy being that type of difference maker. He's got a lot of mileage on him and he's not a north south guy. Dancing in the backfield without the threat of a passing game will look worse than it did with Sanchez at QB.

Serious question. Who is he gonna trade? Shady would've been his biggest trade piece because he legitimately changes an offense.

Teams aren't as quick to trade picks now with the rookie contracts setup. He'd have to give up the farm especially since now everyone KNOWS he needs a QB. He lost all leverage on this.

I'm not totally sure if Tennessee even wants Mariota, they drafted Mettenberger and may want to develop him, but if Philly offers them a 1st, 2nd, future 1st, and Foles I don't see why they would pass on that.

I agree with you on the fact that Philly should have gotten a pick or two

Weird trade, doesn't make a lot of sense for either team.

If the Bills wanted a RB, this is a RB rich draft, they could have drafted one with fresh legs and not making a ton of cash.

The Eagles traded their best offensive weapon for a LB with a bum leg.
I hear what your saying but the Bills don't have a 1st, or 4th rd pick this year. they might not of wanted to burn a pick on a RB.

wow this is a horrible trade for Philly

i dont care how devalued the RB position is you dont trade an elite player for a guy whos only had a good rookie year and hasnt been the same since he got hurt

watch, these Oregon players are gonna cost Chip his job

its gonna be interesting to see how many picks he gives up to move up in the draft to take that Alex Smith clone Marriota

To add on, the Eagles had one of the best O-Lines and McCoy still had a down year. What's going to happen in Buffalo who has one of the worse O-Lines?

I think some of y'all are just being blinded by the wow factor. McCoy was above average last year and is coming off of multiple 300+ carry seasons. Yes he's only 26 but he has at most 3 years of very good play in those legs. Birds save the cap space (Revis? Suh? McCourty? Cobb?) and RBs are a dime a dozen. I like it for both teams more so the Eagles.

I have a hard time paying any RB in this league 10+ mil unless you have a Lynch/Peterson impact on the team

Uncertain grounds
the more i think about this and after seeing edp's video

larrylaugh-gif.5496

a gamble for both teams but even moreso for philly obviously

kiko gives philly a helluva lot of cap flexibility and if hes healthy hes a beast..but hes coming off an acl tear..mccoy was their best player, by far...and with all the rumors of philly trying to get mariota..i wouldve thought they would trade mccoy to get into that draft slot..i even floated the idea in a thread months ago..but wtf? lol. plus they release cole who was solid. cary williams was garbage though so that was the right move. they have 48 mil (i think) to fukk around with and they better use it right..now if they can land suh and maxwell..re-up maclin and/or sign andre johnson and make some smart draft picks they will be okay..but god damn if this isnt a gamble

for the bills..there is some risk too. im not sure how effective mccoy will be if rex uses him in his traditional 2 tailback with a FB run game. for instance, barry sanders didnt like when they had corey schlesinger in front of him because it obstructed his vision and took away a bit of his creativity as a runner. i think rex will use mccoy right and shuffle in their other rb's to make it work..their defense was very good without kiko..and their biggest need is QB and there isnt one on the market really. i thought buff was pretty set at rb though without mccoy..they misused the fukk out of spiller but even with him out of the fold they still have fred/bryce/dixon which is serviceable...if they misuse mccoy too then thats a big cap hit to take when they could have used it to get a really good #2 wide out and fill some other holes.

just a pure madden trade. thats the main source of the laughter..im completely incredulous and its pretty entertaining to see all the eags fans wyling. my friends are buggin right now. one said "mccoy will go down as having never won a playoff game as an eagle :mjcry:"

What? His rookie year was last year and he didn't even play this season so how do you know he's not the same?

O Line was never fully Healthy, only Jason Peters played the full season

Kelce/Mathis/herremans missed parts of the season due to injury
lane Johnson didnt play the first 4 games due to suspension

we had makeshifts O Line's week in, week out
