This story is about a child. Some of you in your need to insult, forget that particular point. I assume most of you are adults here, and no where should an adult be calling a child a loser. An adult doing that is very immature in my opinion.

That child needed help, and that gun being near his grasp is definitely a reason to look at the parents closely. While I sympathize with their loss, blaming a chatbot for their son's suicide is just them trying to dodge accountability for not detecting the pain their child was suffering in time to save him from himself. They need to look inward, and not try to shuffle off blame on to A.I.

While I agree with the gist of what your saying the article says that his parents realized something was wrong and had him in therapy. Doesn’t seem like they were neglectful as far not paying attention that something was off with the child. Having the gun so easily accessible is DEFINITELY a red flag but I think sometimes we take for granted how sneaky some of these kids move. If the gun was locked in a gun case with the key not easily lying around and he just found out where it was located and snuck it, then thats a different conversation.

Either way its a tragic story.

You can lock your gun up with a fingerprint lock or a passcode lock that is easy to access for you, but impossible for someone else to get into on a whim. So no, they were neglectful in how they maintained control over their gun. They get no excuse from me on this issue.
