I like tate then i feel i dont like a 3rd for a off contract player whos gonna be 31 this off season

But imma let howie cook

Between Tate, Foles, Darby, Hicks, etc.. those are 4 guys who might all get more than $10m annually in new contracts if they leave via FA. We're guaranteed at least one extra 3rd round compensation pick in 2020.

I just read that if tate walks this off season we could be looking at a 3rd or 4th comp pick in2020

Now im fine with the trade :whew:

I like it :manny:

Jordan Matthews has been pretty good but this is a definite upgrade to what was a really thin wr group.

The only issues I have is wheres he gonna line up and how late in the season it is

If we don't make the playoffs it was a pointless trade, but worth the risk imo because they have enough draft capital

After the Cowboys gave up a 1st for Amari Cooper, the trade market for a WR was always going to be high, so a 3rd Round pick doesn’t bother me too much. If the Eagles wanted somebody good before the deadline, they were going to have to pay for him, no Ajayi-esque deals this year. The offense needs an explosive playmaker on the outside and I love the idea of a WR corps with Alshon, Agholor, and Golden Tate, alongside Ertz and Goedert.

I was hoping for DJax, but it never really seemed like Tampa Bay wanted to trade him and he should be happier now that Fitz has taken the starting job from Winston. Shady would have been nice, but the Bills didn’t want to trade him. Patrick Peterson announced that he wanted to stay with Arizona. Le’Veon Bell was always a pipe dream. This was probably the best move the Eagles could have made if they still believed in a shot at making the playoffs.

Hopefully Tate can make an impact quickly and give the offense a much-needed shot in the arm, because this team has almost no margin for error with five upcoming divisional games, playing the Saints and Rams on the road, and dealing with a hot Texans team.

Tate is the consummate #2 receiver.

Eagles WR corp looks formidable again with Alshon (1), Tate (2), Agholor (3) and Mathews (4).

In addition to Ertz and Goedert.

It appears Doug is gonna try to win games on the strength of Wentz's arm now. The running game will compliment the aerial assault. I prefer the balance of last yr but it is a new yr and we don't have Ajayi or Blount.

Makes me wonder if mack10 or wallace is gonna come back this season. If adams continues this form and clement who i believe aint 100% still and if he gets right (shoutout to whoever said he looks like he running with timbs on:mjgrin: ) with sproles coming back it will all come together in yerms of the run game

At first i was :manny: about the trade but now with all the info. Lets get the reps in:blessed:

And thank god we got a bye this week :smugbiden:

Welp, i was hoping for Landon Collins but i like Maddox so far in that safety role:manny:.

Sidney Jones is gonna be back (no more of this nikka Dexter Mcdougle :scust:)and hopefully Mills is out a few weeks so we can finally see wat Rasul Douglas can do outchea on the outside.

Hopefully Josh Adams can be our LG Blount and Smallwood and him step up.

I think clement is playing hurt and sproles better be back for Week 10

They didn’t trade for a RB because Pederson and the staff truly believe that Josh Adams is the “thunder” that LeGarrett Blount was for us last year. Doug believes Josh can fulfill that role:

https://247sports.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/Article/Josh-Adams-Eagles-LeGarrette-Blount-replacement-123975449/

Whether or not he actually CAN be that, though, remains to be seen. I’m still not feelin’ all the damn fumbles from him.

Nonetheless, for them it all negated the need to trade for another RB who’s contract situation won’t be as palpable. That also means they believe in Smallwood, which you also see in the article, even if most of us don’t (me included).

So even though Agholar has been good for us in the slot, anybody thinking that an upgrade at that spot to arguably the best slot WR in the game isn’t good for the Eagles right now is retarded. I also think there’s another reason that this move was made at THIS time…..guess who Tate had his biggest game against so far this year? Dallas in Week 4, with 8 catches (on eight targets) for 132 yards and 2 TDs, with 16.50 yards per catch. And who we play coming outta the bye? :sas2:

I just saw a dumb ass USA Today article that says this reeks of a “desperate move”. No, a desperate move would have been to offer too much for Le’Veon, or offer too much for Patrick Peterson, on some “win now” shyt. Fact is, the asking price was too high for them dudes, as well as for Shady.

The ONLY thing I don’t agree with is not making a move to improve the secondary. The only thing I can see there is them trying to make those players get over the mental hurdle that they’re clearly on. We’re talkin’ about essentially the exact same secondary that led us to the title last year. So they must just be sayin’ “you fukk nikkas need to play better, we ain’t bringing in a damn thing, just step the fukk up.”

The problem is that we can’t expect these guys to repeat what happened last year, when they suddenly hit a switch and started playing good coverage and generating all those sacks and turnovers up front. I don’t think they have that in them.

So our season depends on our ability to outscore fools at this point.

Again, I think we can still win the division – we still have to play the Slurs twice – but it’s gonna be tough if these DBs don’t get their collective heads outta their asses.

Led us?:patrice: Our secondary was getting exposed during the second half of last year

Tom Brady lit the secondary the fukk up in the Superbowl. It was a miracle that we won that shyt.

That shyt continued for the first half of this year.

I really think Jalen Mills on the outside is the problem. Darby and Jones have the speed to make up for those double move mistakes and I think Rasul Douglas is slower but he looks like a ball hawk type and is lengthier than Mills for those deep and contested catches.

Douglas must have the Eagles coaches really shook from his practices cause thats the only thing that makes sense on why he gets no burn.

Schwartz has chosen the 7th round pick Mills (who gives up long plays way too often) over second-round pick Eric Rowe and now third round pick Rasul Douglas because he likes Mills' confidence. :hhh:. We have seen enough of Mills as an outside corner.

Hopefully he is out a few weeks and Rasul shines.
