Yo I found the vid I mentioned earlier with Ward throwing the horizontal hook how Danny used this weekend. They had this vid in the tvs in the gym and I couldn't hear it due to the music but dude dropped gems all throughout this. :wow:

He is saying he is working the heavybag like he would fight a tall aggressive fighter and he is throwing that horizontal hook :jbhmm:

Danny was facing a taller aggressive fighter on Sat and was throwing the same hook :ohhh:

"Danny can't box" nikkas ain't gonna like this :whew:

I swear boxing is the most aesthetically pleasing sport sometimes man. :banderas: that right hook is pretty as fukk.

You can see right there why Khan had issues. He hops around on his feet while throwing punches so he's not getting any actual power behind anything. Garcia is standing there delivering the punch off his back foot and putting everything into it each time. Mayweather talked about that footwork problem in some interview I saw last year...He basically described how too many new fighters have the same terrible footwork and technique. That's part of why Mayweather has been so successful cause you rarely see him throw a punch until he's in the right stance to throw it.

My take on Amir's footwork are, his hands are always moving faster than his feet. Thus, he always gets out of position to defend himself. Happened in the Maidana fight, this fight, the Devon fight and the Algieri fight. He doesn't set his feet (as you said) and ends up throwing arm punches, which he can't bring back fast enough to guard his face. Even if Khan lands that right uppercut he's trying to throw, he still ends up getting KTFO b/c that'd end up being a temple shot.

My thing about that punch is Danny turns it horizontal as it goes over the shoulder, and doesn't bring the knuckles around to hit the neck--he keeps them horizontal until Khan damn near hits the ground. Never saw that before his fight with Guerrero, and krack found that lovely footage of SOG practicing that punch for the exact situation Danny was in. shyt is fiya.

Yeah, the Ward gifs put it all into more perspective. No motives behind this all punches landed edit either as somebody earlier tried to imply. Certain fights I watch make me want to see how it all looks with every successful punch of the fight edited together. First time I saw this fight I thought Garcia got lucky, rewatched it and noticed the subtle changes in Khan's body language thru each round. Always seemed like an interesting fight to me due to the contrasting styles from each fighter.

Looking for music and how to tie the Ward/Gatti 1 edit together completely now. Without cleaning up the the slop in the timeline so far...There's over 9 minutes of nothing but punches landed in that fight lol.

there is nothing smart about the way garcia fights

he has a decent chin and a hook that eventually hits most forward fighting boxers if he throws it enough times

this clown can't fight anything but tailor made bums and gatekeepers
