I think part of it is that, but they don’t want to look bad so they just say the men don’t make enough.

You're right, they say that exact phrase, but i don't think it means what we think it means.
Do you think they're including professional peers in that group? I ask bc, when pressed, they drill it down to "men who approach me". Further, when Kevin asks about coworkers/ professional orgs, they act like they never even considered it.
