I`m a High Earner and will have well over 2mill at retirement. Kev is giving conservative estimates since most folks ignore saving for retirement early on, especially the women callers. Lotta folks end up start trying to save once they have kids lol.

Look how much these callers consume, you think they gonna downsize their lives to 30k-50k fixed budgets? They still gonna have that itch to travel, brunch, and shop because the spirit of becoming a big mama aint in em (look at all the 50-60 yr olds posting bikini pics talking about how they still look good, or old women getting their bodies done).
So technically you don’t need the 2 mil to survive then, and is he mostly talking about women?

When I hear him say making 2 mil for retirement, I’m thinking a minimum amount to survive, not spend like how he says women want to.

So you don’t really need 2 mil if you live a low budget lifestyle is what you’re saying?

This is basic financial planning:
The 4% rule is an often-cited framework to safely pull money from retirement portfolios.

The metric, created in the 1990s by financial advisor William Bengen, says retirees can withdraw 4% of their total portfolio in the first year of retirement. That dollar amount stays the same each year and rises only with annual inflation. This approach carries low risk of running out of money over a 30-year retirement, according to the rule.

However, the current market environment may mean 4% is too high a safe withdrawal rate for new retirees, experts say.

That’s especially true for those with rigid monthly spending needs, they said. Such individuals don’t have much flexibility to cut back on discretionary purchases (vacations or eating out, for example) if the market goes sideways.

“If you’re someone who has to have a certain amount, 3% is the new 4%,” Blanchett said of the 4% rule. “Because you don’t have a cushion if things do go poorly.”

What’s the lowest you could really live on if you tried to retire today? What in your lifestyle could be cut, realistically? I’d find it hard for you to live below 60% of your current income.

Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
That nikka who is a clinical psychologist/nurse is just as delusional as the women that call in
You about to work 60-80 hours + a business and trying to get married with family
Fam this is a disaster in the making
Even if he found a “good” woman
She will have needs/requirements and if you can’t balance work/life
Be prepared
And that Hispanic chick was a hot mess
She is going to get taken advantage of in the military
Didn’t really understand why he wanted her to go to the Navy
If I had gone into the military
It would’ve definitely been the Air Force, plus she already got rank(I mean I know it’s a E-3 but still)
But her self esteem/self worth is on the bottom-bottom
So I don’t know how this will pan out
Rarely feel sad for people but she kinda got to me
I understand where Kevin is coming from with the military but you're right. Women already get taken advantage of in the military but with her?! :picard: At least she went air force because if went Navy, those sailors and possibly Marines would feast on her.:picard: Anyone who has been in the fleet will know! :mjlit::mjlit::mjlit:

ask yourself if you grinded your ass off for 50 years, do you want to live on a 30-50k budget especially when you factor inflation 30yrs from now.
The 2 mill msg is usually to women cause they always talking a luxurious lifestyle of trips and stuff

This dude co signed a mortgage for his 65 yr old mom. cause he makes 150k, but has NEVER talked to a woman out in the open in public before. Wow. He handled him correctly, he is a pushover, no backbone, and needs to live his own life. He's fukkin 36. Wow.

people don't understand this. if you finished out your career for the last decade making 80k, you're not about to downsize to 40k a year for the next 20-30 years because you don't have enough money.

and he just said, these dudes want someone to tell them what to do. and he's right. do your own work, make your own decisions. These dudes have no clue on how to navigate life.

Some of these dudes are worse than the women he talks to.
