Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
My pops drove trucks from 1977 till 2009. He had to get OT to break 50k. He never wanted to be a road driver. That shyt fukks up your knees and and back.
Y’all keep talking about owner operators. Every one who’s a driver isn’t doing that. Truck drivers don’t make as much as they used to unless they go that route. I’m talking about the normal 18 wheeler drivers. One city, a normal route that go home every day.

had to work up to regular from the dock. I believe he topped out at $23 an hour. Everything else was OT and he didn’t always do that. And he was union. Only late 2 times. They offered him manager but he didn’t wanna work that much and deal with them white dudes
Every truck driver I know makes a good living. My best friend drives trucks and I know for a fact that he makes 70k+ a year. I don't know the exact amount but I know it ain't no 50k a year. He used to work for JB.

My cousin, who lives in Austin, Texas, started doing trucking a few years ago and he makes money. I don't know the exact amount but he's making enough to where he was able to pay for his wife's nursing school as well as buy a big house. I don't know the exact amount but he's eating good.

Money is very good in trucking but a lot of people don't want to do it because of the time away from home.

Yes, there is a friend of my pops who did the road driving. he made a good amount more. but I know for sure, that my pops used to get paid weekly. his checks would be between 800-1000 a week back then before taxes. this was during my teenage years. Teamsters union and pension. So I can comfortably estimate his gross between 47-55k back then, lets say 1999-2009. he retired after a back injury, right before they changed the pension. and late 90s to 2010 that was good money back then cause shyt didn't cost as much. his last year he was at 45-46k by september of that year. then he got hurt.

he fits the average money lane KS talks about, 45-60k or so. and he was there in his 40s-50s till he retired. so just a real world illustration that not everybody is out here balling, like some ppl still think.

if you made 50k+ pre Katrina in new Orleans, you had a REALLY good job. today, that same 50k is still a milestone here, nikkas ask...."damn where you work at?!?!"

A lot of them cannot handle money. And as far as demeanor, it's a bunch of tomboys and "hood nikkas" in female bodies. they act, sound, look, and eat/drink alcohol and smoke like men. I went to school with alot of women that fell off and we not 35 yet...

It doesn't surprise me. I know someone who has some health problems to where if they drink their body can't process it properly and they dont gaf

most new orleans women eat

seafood
heavy red meat
smoke/drink
fast food
a bunch of fried food
starch and carb filled foods

and some of them even admit to not being water drinkers

if you look at the bodies of some of these women they are late 20s early 30s with auntie arms.

I'd say 70-80% of new orleans women don't eat healthy and go to the gym.
