If it wasn't about KO then Sami would have let the beatdown happen. Realistically, his bond with Jey should be much stronger than his bond with KO. if it was about Jey he would have joined in. KO is definitely a factor here. I think people want to gloss over it because they don't want to cheer for a guy getting back with an abusive and manipulative partner.
