Richard is much better as a versatile help defender, he makes great cuts to the basket and can actually finish, and he can also hit threes from the corner. He just has that veteran savvy and fire, dude is in that Shane Battier-role, the ball moves better when he's on the floor because he's a quick decision maker and he makes smart decisions..

An example of that is when he saw Steph was on him he said fukk this im driving on him hard and he was able to draw a foul. Love's slow, no-vert having ass would have caused a clumsy turnover, got blocked from the weakside, or missed the lay-up.

He needs to start the remainder of this series, bring Love off the bench he could split minutes with Frye and potentially flourish with the second unit...

Bring Love off the bench against Golden State's second unit and I think he can be effective. All they may need from him is about 20 minutes a night and some offense when Bron or Kyrie is sitting. I think they still will need him to win the (cause you cant depend on JR and the crew bringing that kind of effort every night) the series.

Love might need to come off the bench for a different reason other than defense.

105 points scored by the starters is no way near sustainable. Love can give them needed scoring off the bench to take up some of the scoring

Love sotting the bench is two fold.


First on pick and rolls the cavs dont get exposed anymore because they have active athletes at ever position thatccan actually move. Kyrie is the only weaklink but he can be covered by the other 4 guys.


Second is lebron plays power forward and he is obliterating green both offensively and defensively. Meanwhile they are still locking up ateph and klay. Notice how last game green went off? With lebron guard him instead of love he camt do anything.

Stop it. Love has had a very good season and has been good all playoffs. I will agree Richard Jefferson is a better defender, but if Lue can convince Love to play as a sixth man for the remainder of the series it would be best for the team.
