This was terrible. Didn’t even crack a smile. I still like Kev in certain movies but his stand up has been trash for a minute now

I wouldn't say his standup has fallen off. it just hasn't evolved any. He still telling the same type of stories about his family and shyt. the first time was funny because it was the first time, but now you basically re-using the same type of jokes with slightly altered premises.

Let me tell why my wife pisses me off, first of all

Now it's let me tell why my wife pissed at me, first of all.

like okay breh, you don't have any new observational humor based on your recent success and shyt to talk about? Dave Chappelle did like a 20 minute bit on going to one of your shows, thats funnier than actually going to one of your shows. find a new angle.

Yea I can’t lie I felt like his last two standup were more because he had a contract to do them and not because he was really into it. He even made a joke about his boys flowing him asking what was he going to talk about and they mocked him and said his family again. He said he has nothing else left to talk about and he can’t talk about his hos cause they all left after the sex tape.

He needs to be real with himself and realize if he gives a damn about his legeacy it’s time to stop the formulaic movies and only do roles he is passionate about and focus on his stand up. He needed time to work these jokes out some more. I’m saying, he is doing too much and none of his work is that good anymore because he doesn’t have the time t focus on any one craft. And I typically like his stuff, but eve his YouTube shows aren’t funny to me anymore.

Exactly. I remember going to see him at Essence and he talked about wild animals and racc00ns in his yard. And just like you said, talking about his wife and a few bits about the kids. The crazy part is that I love watching cold as balls. Kevin is funny in that element. Real husbands of Hollywood was funny as well.

It’s not terrible, but it’s not good either. Like just sits in the middle. There were some parts I chuckled but nothing major

I think Dave Chappelle and others have spoiled me in regards to their topics/jokes revolving around current issues. That’s what I was kind of looking for with this

Yeah, i feel like anytime Dave or something current like that they releases a new special it feels more relevant to the current time. Which in turns makes it more of a "special" to me, instead of just some unreleased jokes he may written for the last two specials.

Kev got so much shyt going on with Hollywood and his own production company that he really can't be the same early Kev anymore. The life experiences don't hit the same after you've become as big as he has.

His show with his homeboys every Tuesday and thursday on Sirius is my shyt though. They even roast his ass about him towing a PC line at times not to fukkup the money. nikka even joked "that's why I have yall nikkaz here to say the shyt I can't a lot of the time!!!". But that version of Kevin on the show >>> the last few standups EASY. It's natural and unfiltered and free flowing with jokes and fukkery.

I'll still check this joint out tho.

sidenote: This is what worries me about Eddie potentially coming back. But he has A LOT of life experience material over 30 years since his last standup as material.
