No one is calling Mike a hater cuz he don't find Kevin funny...did you miss the part about him accusing Kevin of stealing jokes? :what:
His point was there are plenty of young comedians saying the exact same shyt Kevin is saying, and they are still broke and unknown. Kevins strength is his marketing and hype, not the fact that he is unique or anything. Give the same jokes to a bum in a comedy club, and all of a sudden the jokes are not funny anymore.

I don't take anything from Kevin tho, he built that hype up and I respect his hustle. But he's corny to me :yeshrug:

To me Kevin Hart is fast food comedy. Just like todays music, it's based on hype, gimmicks and not quality. What Epps was talking about basically, is if you make all this money you should be the funniest guy on earth right now. But that's not how it works, there are comedians out there that are way funnier than Kevin but not even half as succesful as him.
Epps respects his hustle, but purely talent wise, he ain't THAT funny. That's why he said he's great marketer.

You have to seperate financial success/exposure and pure talent.

That's your opinion, comedy is one of the most subjective art forms in the world. To me Mike Epps is horrible and has never made me laugh, but there's millions of people that think he's hilarious. Just because I don't like him doesn't mean Mike's not funny, his comedy style just isn't for me.

Whenever I've seen a Kevin Hart show people are dying of laughter. All of the marketing and hype in the world can't produce that reaction.

That wasn't his point, he was clearly accusing Kevin of jacking other comedians jokes.

To Mike Epps' credit, he never said Kevin Hart. Sway kept baiting and throwing Hart's name on Mike's shoulders, which isn't like Sway. In the interview, Mike was speaking in general. The only thing Mike said about Kevin Hart was the "market-ed-er" comment. Admittedly it was slick, but let's be clear that Mike Epps didn't rant on Hart like Aries Spears did. Mike Epps commentary about having writers was in general.

Dave Chappell was corny as hell before he got on the Chapelle show. The writers like Paul Mooney and

Naw, "Killing Them Softly" was dope. That special was a star-maker, in much the same way Kevin Hart's "Seriously Funny" was. Granted, he's had some hit-or-miss comedian carousel 15 minute sets before that, but almost all of his dolo ish is on point.

Is that Kevin Hart's problem? There are better rappers than Jay Z, but he's the one with the money. Micheal Jordan has only put out 4 decent looking shoes and he keeps selling those same shoes over and over again. There was thread a couple of days ago about Beats by Dre headphones being shytty, yet Dr. Dre became a billionaire off of them. I think a lot of businesses or people who create something worry too much about being the best or having the product, when in actuality, they should focus more energy on convincing consumers they have the best product. Whether it's truly the best is unimportant, you just want the consumer to purchase your product.

Yeah I'm not criticizing him, like I said I do respect his hustle. Do I think he's overrated as a comedian? Yeah I do :manny:

Right. I know comedy is subjective, but I haven't seen any large faction that didn't think Killing them softly wasn't hilarious. That's like some revisionist shyt somebody who never heard of our checked for Chappell before the show would say. And I didn't even mention Half-Baked.
Right dude has always been funny, even before the movie roles. You could tell he had the tools to blow up.
