I agree with Bill Cosby. I think yall underestimate how much of a star he was in every form of media for 30+ years. Books, movies, albums and tv. He killed. Even when Pryor got hot, Cosby was still hot in the mainstream. He had an amazing run. I can only imagine what it was like when Pryor and Cosby and Eddie were all famous at the same time. Crazy part is Cosby and Pryor got theor start in the same year. It just took a few years for Pryor to really really blow up

The comedy game is like rap. The only reason Drake and Kendrick are revered is because they have the machine pushing them in a sea of mediocre talent.

Kevin used to be be funny but he really fell off. That Oscars controversy really neutered him. Chappelle is the only one carrying the torch but even his last few specials have been a dud to me.

Louis CK still hasn’t really recovered from his sexual assault scandal and it shows.

I can’t remember the last “black” comedy movie I watched and really died laughing watching. We had a plethora in the 80s/90s and early 00s. I don’t know what happened. It’s the “ratchet” era right now. Is there no room for a smart black comedy movie to shine?

Eddie Murphy's run was "Short" ? in what Universe? Eddie Murphy has had more hits than Kevin plus he directed "Harlem Nights" with Redd Foxx and Pryor (Two of the GOATS). Even with his average to weak movies, his catalog blows Kevin's away. Kevin was mostly a supporting Actor in his Early movies. Eddie has been the Star from jump. The answer is no, Eddie still has the crown. He remains the highest Grossing Comedian in Box Office History as far as headlining films. If I'm being honest, I liked Martin run better than Kevin's once you include his show too. With that said, he's having a good career but how many Classics does Kevin have? Eddie and Martin have plenty.
