Immortals was on tv the other day and I was at some folks house. For about 20 minutes no on in there but me recognized Henry Cavill in that movie and then after realizing “that’s Superman” no one in there ever saw that movie and don’t even recall when it came out.

The majority of the folks that know HCavill as Superman also don’t know about and never seen The Cold Light of Steel and Sandcastle

Unless you been a fan of these guys work (or in some cases live in the guys same country to see their work) THE MAJORITY of the Blockbuster tickets buyers have and never had any idea of any of these actors not named RDJ, Sam L, Chris Evans, Don Cheadle and a few other folks.

It’s kinda like the WWE with there are guys that worked in others places for damn near 10 years and yea a few of them were big in their respective little markets.

But the moment the made it to the WWE and then later a Wrestlemania was the moment they really took off.

Hell even on a smaller scale The Walking Dead cast. Everyone of them was unknowns until they got on there.

Also said, not saying he’s on that level. As far as his work. I’m gonna be honest with you my guy, I have no idea.... but it’s just like when I first heard Brie Larson, Chris Helms, and a few others.

As you said though, Blade is a martial arts film and I think it would be cool if they got a black guy that can do martial arts.

Because I don't get this idea that just because a guy can do the moves means he is perfect for the role. Perfect to be the stunt double maybe but that is about it if dude is not any kid of actor.

I’m gonna be honest with you...... I was kinda saying that in jest or halfway serious.

Dude is a beast though and goes hard with his training. It’s actually impressive

Henry Cavill was in The Tudors TV series as a regular cast member for a couple years by the time he made Immortals and had been professionally acting for about 10 years.
Everyone else you mention in your posts from all those other shows/movies were also actors even if they were unknowns...that is the key question that is being asked of dude you posted: is he an actor?
Because all I see is a dude in a mask doing martial arts in his backyard.

No one knows ALOT of these folks. I get many have done broadways, tv shows, indie movies, (hell I recently learned Brie was a child pop singer) but just speaking from a MAJORITY perspective. All or a lot of these cats are relatively brand new.

You probably saw 42 or Get on Up, but you can’t convince me white boy Rick or Darryl in your accounting department knew who Chadwick was till he starred in Civil War and have went back to even watch them now

I work in the accounting department and saw both those chadwick movies before civil war.
Also It's not about how well known the actor is, it's about whether or not they actually are an actor. Some Plumber that happens to know Kung Fu isn't comparable to a dude thats been in bit roles for 20 years doing indie projects before finally getting their big break

Just because you and The Coli never watched the show doesn't mean it wasn't a reasonably well-known show. It was on Showtime for about 4-5 seasons.
That would be like shytting on somebody who was on the Chi because he/she never had a gig before that show and the general white people public weren't checking for them.
Having a steady gig on a Showtime show that lasted for several years means you were a working actor and not some guy who liked to reenact Shaw Brothers moves on dummies in your mom's backyard.

Of course the general public doesn't recognize people until they end up being cast in something that hits with wide audiences but Chadwick was still a working actor before he blew up.
That was all I was asking...whether Dragonfly Jones was an actual actor or just some guy who took a couple karate classes at his local strip mall.
