Not really. Durant is better than Nique, Stockton and Ewing ever were (first two not even in his stratosphere) and he's got a good shot at passing Karl someday.

KD has top 15 all time upside. Can still hit that with GSW
Durant is no where close to Wilkins or any of those guys. They would never make a weak move like Durant. He can never be considered one of the greatest after a move like this.

Durant is basically Robert Horry now. A role player that may hit some big shots.

The team he went to already beat him and won the championship without him.

Weak ass move. No matter how many rings the Warriors win...Durant will never be considered among the greatest of all time.

Never.
That's basically the point. It's not about hating KD for exercising his rights or freedoms, or any of that. It's just disappointing to see him punk out and sign with the squad who just beat him when the playing field was perfectly level. It's not like he was at any kind of disadvantage. I understand the shyt about Russ not being guaranteed to be there after next season or whatever but still, anywhere but GS. They're a proven championship team without him already. This looks like a no win situation. It's not just the rings it's the perception.
That's the same mindset Dominique Wilkins, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing, all had during THIER primes with no rings to show for it
What good is the ring without the respect though? Do you think that KD could ever be considered the best player in the league playing with Steph, Klay, and Draymond?

It's funny how Malone and Payton jumped ship to the Lakers and didn't get this much hatred(can't beat em join em:sas2:)
Barkley did the same thing trying to catch that last Rockets wave.
This shyt has been happening for awhile now.
Will Smith came through with the memory scrambler:mjlol:
Those players were well past heir prime tho. Payton didn't leave Kemp to go play with Mike. Barkley didn't leave the Suns after that finals loss to go play with Mike.

Don't bother, these nikkas are being intentionally obtuse about the shyt. Comparing a 40 year old Malone, 35 year old Payton or even a 34 year old Barkley to a 27 year old Durant is the height of absurdity.

I have no problem with Durant leaving for a new team but don't pretend this isn't fukk shyt

Kds fine to do whatever he wants , still doesn't mean that this wasn't the ultimate bytch beta move. As a man not sure how you team up with your competitors after YOU choked against them . It's like Jordan teaming up with Isiah. Durants a different mold we have to respect that

Petty Vandross.. fukk Yall
You called it being obtuse, I call it nikkas pushing the goal post to fit their own narrative on what a man wants to do with his life.
nikkas quick to cop pleas and use "but, but, but", then want to act like the blueprint and past don't exist.
Three hall of famers (regardless of age) jumped ship to do what..
That's right absent minded cornballs...
TO CHASE THAT MUTHfukkIN RING...
If I have a chance to get one, I'm going to the best team with potential..
But I forgot this is thecoli and only Lebytch had the right to do this:mjlol:
Whose legacy is 10x the beta as anybody playing in the NBA.:sas2:

He can and he will. Before this decision he was on track to finish as an all time great and it really shouldn't change now because he doesn't do what others want him to

Guys like Nique and Stockton were just objectively worse at basketball than KD. If there were in the league today there is a 0% chance you'd be arguing them over him. A decision shouldn't change that, he still has to go out there and produce. When he does he deserves credit for it

How about 26 year old Moses Malone joining the 76ers coming off a Finals berth in free agency? Teamed up with Dr J
