obviously no two situations are the same, but the heat were put together thinking there wouldnt be a team that could challenge them and they'd have a clear path to multiple titles. the cavs have 3 all stars in their prime and are the champs. the warriors have 3 all stars in their prime and won 73 games. the spurs have 2 all stars in their prime and won 67 games. there is no where kd could have gone (some offense to boston) that would have immediately meant easy title window for 5+ years the same way lebron's move to miami did.

for a short and long term title window lebron going to miami and kd going to gs arent dissimilar.
