Bron stans lack awareness.

Bron stans probably don't lack awareness, they just recognize that the option of "Bring the team I join a ring before leaving" is something that would have to show up on that menu for it to make sense for Bron. :hubie:

KD out here trying to jump to yet another team with an incredible top tier season record and he didn't do shyt in Brooklyn but help them go from contender to rebuilding in no time.

THE NETS were a playoff team. They had a good young core, picks, great coach. And we’re just starting to make the playoffs. Two years back to back.

They get KD and Kyrie and pay them the max. They also pay deandre Jordan 40 million because that’s who they want. They also get rid of the coach for someone who ain’t coaching shyt. They follow this up by trading more pieces and picks for harden cause that who they wanted. That fails. Then they trade for Simmons who still hasn’t played.

For all of THAT. They get…… to the playoffs two years in a row. 2nd place and 7th place. And now they have to trade them both. No superstar is going to fukk with them like that after this. Not too many teams even have two superstars to give up, let alone would give up both, so it’s unlikely they get instantly good again.

So by next year, they’ll be back to barely making the playoffs IF they can even get that. Trying to find a good coach. Trying to find a good core. To build around Ben fukking Simmons

This was a complete and total waste of time for THE NETS. That’s not some outlandish take. They didn’t “win” by getting them. This was a disaster that never even reach the finals.

And I’m a sixers fan. But the argument at the time was that the Knicks should have gotten them. The same Covid shyt would have happened and they’d be in the same spot.

Hell I’d put money on the Knicks being better then the nets next season and they clearly have a better coach and it didn’t cost 400 million to do it
Bruh without superstar players they weren’t going anywhere. They had KD and Kyrie and fukked it up. You can try and blame the players all you want but that was their best shot at winning anything. D Angelo Russell and Spencer Dinwiddie being your best players gets you nowhere, I tdon’t care what coach you have. And if they’re a middling playoff team then there goes their hope of drafting a superstar to build around.

KD and Kyrie gave them their best shot. But now they’re going to trade them and spend the next 4 years they could have spent building around superstar/star players, trying to replace them. Total fail no matter how you slice it. Having a superstar/star tandem is better than hoping young players figure it out. Especially when those young players barely showed star potential if that... They blew this and won’t recover from it:..

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven

Homie that’s all I was saying. No matter what they gave, in the end this was a disaster story.

KD is in a lose-lose here.

He doesn't have much time left at the top, so it's not like he can go through the process of forming another superteam again - he has to join a ready-made team. But then that goes against why he left GS in the first place, where he wanted to be at the center of it all and create something for himself where the recognition would run parallel to that.

He can't have that now.
