They plan on bringing kd back and won’t move kyrie until they move kd. The writing is on the wall. The ball is in the players court now. Might get ugly
Was thinking the same thing. They're keeping the door open to bringing them both back, that's why they're not doing a Kyrie trade until they figure out a deal for KD.

The team is deep and Kevin is not gonna hold out. Kyrie wants a big deal next season so he had to PLAY nice.

They might as well run it back

Are there many examples of it working out well when teams force the player who wants out to come to camp and play? Off the top of my head, in every sport, 9/10 the player gets moved anyway after some fukkery once they get there and most often the return isn't any better than what they would have gotten in the offseason.

That’s why we keep mentioning Kobe. He’s the last superstar that I can think of. I’m sure other stars have asked for trades and were told no but they’ve done so quietly

Yep, Kobe is the example to bring up, but that is a unique situation, no? He had won titles in LA, was there his whole career, and was pretty well entreneched in the community as far as his wife and kids, etc. KD don't have those ties to BK. He's a single dude who goes where he thinks he can win.

Plus, at the end of the day, Kobe's mentality was closer to the guys in the 80's vs the ones now who hop from team to team no problem.

Kobe was too competitive to miss a season. Guys like KD will pull Harden in a minute and jsut concede the season if they have to and who wants to pay that much money for a player to be dogging it?

Kobe’s passion and respect for the game was jsut another level. It’s what separated him from TMac. And it pains me to say that

Never thought Kobe actually wanted to leave he just wanted the Lakers to live up to their end. When he re-signed it was with the understanding they'd put together a championship level roster and they hadn't done that.

Feel like KD is too much of a pro to tank or be a problem. Yeah he may be unhappy but he gonna show up and play hard. He ain't Kyrie

Yup and not to mention KD has been on 3 teams in the past 6 years.
Kobe then had been with the lakers for like 10 years and was only like 28

and in this situation, BK traded so much to get someone who ain't even there anymore, so they can't afford to blow it up.

I don't see the packages for KD getting any better.

he's 34. not like BK can hold out either cause time is ticking. that package at 34 won't be there at age 35. Ultimately I think he goes to PHX.

Hakeem Olajuwon in 1992 or 1993 I believe

He had a real beef with Rockets Ownership and management, threatened to get traded, they thought he was faking injury. Ended up smoothing things out, eventually got 2 championships after
