I said in the other thread, no teams want to fold their team or send away their core or centerpieces for KD.
Teams want to keep their core together, add KD and take a shot at winning now. The league is too stacked to take on other teams with only one player and these GM's know that.
The longer this drags out means the lower value the Nets get for them.
I think the they gotta do to another team what Houston did to them: send KD and Kyrie out for a substantial amount of draft picks. They're practically in the same situation the Rocket were in with Harden: can make the play-offs but realistically not beating the better teams with their roster. Blow it up and reset because fans know mediocre when they see it.
Edit:
One trade I see that can benefit both teams that's a big player for big player swap and maybe the only one out there is Zion for KD.
Pelicans can
contend, contend right now with:
McCollum
Herb Jones
KD
Ingram
Valančiūnas
Then you factor in that deep bench who also fit in with somebody like KD.
When Zion finally gets to that age where he's a real threat, CJ, Ingram and Valančiūnas going to be a little older and the Pelicans will have to find players like that again anyways. Pelicans would essentially be going all in on a
really good chance to win now for the city of New Orleans.
In return Nets get something to look forward to.
