First, my argument was not against drugs. I support the legalization of ALL drugs. If somebody wants to shoot heroin/drink alcohol/smoke weed on his/her free time, then let them do it.
Second, my argument is against normalizing drug use at work. Black people are more easily influenced by their celebrities especially when it comes to emulating self-destructive behavior. When the narrative becomes the people that Black people admire the most perform better at their jobs when they are weeded, it will transfer to all levels of the community.
Also, if you need weed to perform better than it is a PED. Psychology is a big part of sports. Often times it is psychology that separated the greats from the "he was so talented but he just couldn't put it together" types. So, if you are using something to enhance your psychology so you can perform better, how is it different from somebody else using a different substance that enhances his physical aspect of the game.
There are just too many serious implications to such ignorant statements, and there is nothing wrong with exploring them.
P.S.
Jon Jones was weeded when he hit a pregnant woman, he could have easily caused her to abort. When I used to work in factories, a dude caused an pretty sever accident while operating a forklift under the influence of marijuana.
Weed influences and alters mental functioning, even if your claim that it is safe is true, you can never rely on people to use it responsibly. People already go to work drunk and cause work place accidents, we don't need people add weed to that mix. So, let us be responsible with our words.
