Above the fray.
@desjardins
Thanks, but will double down on my previous comment. There were documented abuses by UN forces the last time an international force was in Haiti. Kenyan leadership will be asked questions about the human rights record of their police forces ahead of and during the deployment. I do not believe they will send this element of their police force there as they lend support and provide training to Haitian police forces.
The chaos in Haiti has received worldwide coverage, and so will the actions of the International forces who come in. If you think brutality is so rooted in the K police force, that they can't send regular officers who will do their jobs and obey international laws in a high profile deployment, then we just have a difference of opinion.

The gangs have been operating there with impunity since before Moise was assassinated. Have been even more brazen in the two years since. With that level of brazenness, their faces and identities are well known to the residents and local policemen.
Be clear , though. They have no rules and have targeted everybody (girls, old women, preachers), and will not hesitate to try to murder local or international forces.
International forces will be briefed about the nature of the threat, and will move accordingly.

He wasn't a rogue cop, that was a policing strategy from the top down. A simple google search shows all the human right investigations into Kenyan police brutality, over a 1000 ppl have been killed by police in Nairobi alone in the last decade. It's a known issue and I don't trust them to suddenly change in a volatile place like Haiti

Like I constantly say, here, geopolitics is to be discussed with context, facts and objectivity. Not just with emotions. Kenya has a population of 53 million and more than 101,421 police officers...

"As of 31st December 2021, the total number of police officers in Kenya was 101,421. According to the World Bank, the population of Kenya in 2021 was 53.1 million. This means that one police officer served an average of 191 people in 2021."

So, I will simplify it...Your last article, that is from 2022, says that the police killed 326 people from the beginning of 2020 till January 2022. If you follow this, and establish January 2020 as the first date, the percentage of people killed by police officers is 0.0006. And the per capita per 100,000 people figure is around 0.615. So, 0.615 people are killed by police officers per 100,000 people in the population. That's an extremely low number.
