But somehow someway J Cole became the people's champion. The top MC. He captured the hearts of this generation organically, more than Kendrick some would say. And he was well intentioned in keeping the essence of Hip Hop alive. Features, Middle Child, Dreamville, not being flashy, virginity raps, on and on. He even got a hit record out of it.

Kendrick popped out and wiped all that away with one bar. Then he apologized, removed his diss and that was the end of that chapter. Now that Kendrick destroyed Drake in every way, Cole World can't even celebrate this win for the artform. Cole World were ready for him to go to battle with Kendrick. But he gave him the kiss of death and now they're salty on the sidelines witnessing another dead body.

This is exactly right.

Cole presented himself as super real while acting like a rap scammer. It was all good when he was doing tracks with Drake’s ghostwriter. Then it got “fake” when the beef jumped off.
