They can’t even balance the budget or pass a budget. Why would they be bothered to do anything about this stuff just cause Perkins goofy ass is involved? They’ll leave it to the states like they did NIL.
Ehhh it's more just the perk stuff. They're going to want a share of all of this money floating around like they always do as I'm sure a lot of these entities involved are cutting corners.

What do you think is the #1 problem with NIL?
No rules and procedures in place for what's all transpiring now. I'd imagine that a lot of these college kids don't actually have agents or people looking out for their best interest when these deals are being made and money changing hands.

I still insist that this problem could have been solved years ago had the NCAA just worked out a deal with the players instead of having their hands forced into doing so.

Should there be a cap? Should the money be placed in a trust, with a weekly stipend, until graduation?

The floodgates have been opened to try and reign it back in with a cap IMO.

Best thing to do is just come up with regulations that look out for the best interest of the student athlete while making sure they don’t get fukked over long term financially via IRS tax rules and other policies.

The majority of these kids aren’t going make it pro and you run the risk of their futures being ruined before they even finish college.

There’s gotta be some form of rules and regulations.

I feel like this is the “industry” standard paperwork for people dealing with NIL athletes in this new and unregulated arena (it should not be) and he just got caught up tryna capitalize the same way these CACs do. hate to see it…..

That’s even more so why I can’t sympathize with him tho. He knows better. This is just greed. Pay day loans are illegal in a lot of states. These guys running glorified payday loans (but waaaay worse) for young black kids to take advantage of a long time coming W to get compensated for the billions they bring to these schools. It’s some real piece of shyt stuff. Don’t give him the benefit of doubt brother . If we know better. His rich ass know better. We regular folk and know it’s shiesty

O naw fukk this c00n ass nikka foreal :birdman:

From the article

“The company, Nilly, offers athletes upfront payments ranging from $25,000 into the hundreds of thousands, said Perkins and his co-founder, Wall Street veteran Chris Ricciardi. In return, Nilly gets the exclusive rights to use or sell the athlete's name, image and likeness for up to seven years, and the company and its investors receive between 10% and 50% of the player's NIL earnings during that time period.”
