He did what he did hip hop isn’t really built for large stadium performances in front of cacs like that Snoop and Dre were going crazy and them crakkas only really reacted when Eminem came out. Kendrick is usually a great live performer but they made his mic too low and the music too loud I was impressed how he saved his performance when they transitioned to Sza second half was quality

I enjoyed it. I know Kdot isn't everyone's cup of tea. I appreciate that he doesn't water himself down to appeal to everyone and he stays himself. Which was the messaging of the whole Sam Jackson bit in the performance . Rap has gotten too microwaved and watered down. People want these catchy bops instead of stuff with substance in it.

I've never seen a superbowl performance where people didn't complain. It's a big pot of people with different taste watching it so it's never going to be universally loved. This was a better performance than most years. The only ones hating are old boomers and Drake stans
Dre’s half time Super Bowl show got universal acclaim. The few complaints I saw was with Snoop Dogg Crip walking and CACs mad at Eminem kneeling.

Outside of that, I heard/saw little no criticisms. That’s how you put on a show. Rihanna was below underwhelming (but she’s never been great live).

Usher was good but he’s been in the industry for over three decades so it’s no surprise. The Weeknd was marred by technical issues and it was during covid so people gave him some clemency.

I do think we will now see old washed up CAC rockers being wheeled out now unfortunately. We had a good run of black performers but you just know the next one will be Lilly white. Taylor Swift or some Bob Dylan BS.

My brother's keeper
Kanye west would have shyt on everyone in this list if he didnt go crazy...

And kanye's music is better for stadiums.

Imagine his catalogue...from through the wire, and all falls down. To diamonds are forever, stronger, gold digger, mbdtf, power, it'd be amazing...too bad man.

Most people liked it though

Most trending and positive comments on twitter, hundreds of thousands of likes on facebook, instagram etc.
I definitely have seen the positive but there’s too much negativity. I’m just saying enjoy this now because they are going to end up Coldplaying or Maroon 5ing us to death. Or we are about to get that Pink Pony Club up in there

The sadder part about this whole thing is that people are in a hurry to talk about how trash this halftime was but you’re really running out of more current rappers that could do a halftime show. That’s a bigger problem to me. People are saying Wayne but I don’t know how he would sound doing a whole set in 2025. What rapper post Kendrick, Cole, Drake do you think can do a halftime show? Most people wouldn’t say Cole could
I think they should try to do more legacy acts with Hip-Hop groups and R&B acts.

I think the better Super Bowl halftime shows were the ones done by legendary artists and groups.

Modern artists just don't have enough fire behind them to really get a crowd excited. Kendrick was okay but not as extravagant as people expected, he was better as a featured guest rather than a headliner.

shyt was rather weak but I assumed it would be. Kendrick makes headphone music. shyt u really have to listen to.

Drake music is made for shyt like this.

Drake and Snoop probably only rappers left I can see doing superbowl. Snoop would have pop features he could perform. Kanye too if he didnt to crazy
