Alot of my timeline is calling this the worst SB halftime of all time
I won't go that far because there have been other artists I just didn't fukk with at all
But yea this performance was pretty flaw
Could barely hear Kendrick on parts, the crowd participation was trash they only got hype for Not Like Us, his song selection was trash, he's a rapper so can't knock him too much I guess but Kendricks stage performance was mid

The show was corny. Lyrical miracle rap was weak when NY had it but now since Kendrick doing it, it’s the best thing since wonder bread.

If it were me and I’m burying Drake, im performing my hits and letting the world know who I am but this guy got on there and gave Drake free promo during his biggest moment.

Kendrick is a good MC but not Super Bowl halftime show worthy. If they was serious about having a Legacy act up there Wu Tang Clan would have been better.
Wu Tang are legends, but it's no way in hell they are Super Bowl halftime worthy

But the lesson from this is, older black hip hop acts need to hone their performance craft. Because there's a lane for them if they play their cards right.

Imagine OutKast on stage.

Who are the legacy acts that we have in hip hop that can rock arenas? The Roots?

Kendrick isn’t a superstar and he’s not built for this kind of performance. He was forgetting lyrics and out of breath.
Thought I heard a few times when his breath control wasn't there, the audio was so bad though I wasn't sure if it was him or the audio system

Cant fake the backdrop of almost no one with their cell phones out recording like every other superbowl. Crowd could give a fukk less about that performance :dead: it was one cell phone light like every 50 yards  usually it look like the whole stadium got they lighters up :wow:
Those where wristbands, that how they were able to write game over in the crowd

Those hating on anything other than the sound quality are suspect.

This shyt was for the culture. Prolific artist, message, image, symbolism and diss to an opportunist.

If ya dont like hiphop i get it. But it was about more than that.

I love hip hop. But stadium hip hop is bad by default, if we're being honest

- Censoring makes the audio go in and out
- Instruments sound better than DJs in that kinda venue
- Artist has a lot of bravado so doesn't want to look like they're trying too hard
- "Late Eminem style" fast rapity rap gets a cheap applause but usually it's just under annunciated gibberish
- Bass and rhythm doesn't translate well to the venue
- A lot of hip hop artists aren't musical enough to elevate it. It's all their producers (Timbaland or Pharrell could probably kill it)

Kanye West's earlier album concerts were one of the few live hip hop shows that actually translated well. Maybe even better because of his live band (with strings and everything).

Ironically, Drake could probably deliver too because he has enough pop hits to paper over all the issues.

The Bushes
:dahell: What else was yall looking for him to do ???
like buddy said, the set list was ass. the visuals were cool though. keep Samuel L.

Kendrick isn’t some megastar like Beyonce or Rihanna where you can just come out to a random unreleased song, I dont know why he did that. That’s tour shıt.

1. Bish Don’t Kill My Vibe

2. Alright

3. Humble

4. HiiPower

5. All the Stars (sza)

close with your new album. keep Sza out there for Luther

6. Luther (sza)

7.Squabble Up

9. Not Like Us

This a dope set list and with songs like HiiPower and Alright, you still get your message across.

Now compare my set list to what he did:

an Unreleased Song (Bodies), Squabble Up, DNA, Euphoria, Man at the Garden, Peekaboo, Luther, All the Stars, Not Like Us, TV Off

Jay-Z, Busta, Puffy prior to 2023, Missy Elliot, 50 Cent, Snoop, Outkast, Kanye prior to "slavery was a choice," Eminem, Flo Rida, Pitbull, Drake, and MAYBE Fat Joe, are the only ones who I can think of that could rock the Super Bowl halftime show. Some of those artists I don't care for, but they're "acceptable" to a mainstream(white) audience but also will get love from the black community.

Tbh I wasn’t mad at the performance. I don’t know what people are expecting of a 15 minute performance
Probably something as dope as Prince or other artists during the SB halftime show :dahell:

But honestly… kinda told yall nikkas dude was overhyped something serious… all because he went at the infamous Drake:mjlol:
