This album just like nasir's untitled. Great effort and message. Just poor execution from a hiphop stand point. He tried to do too much. You cant outsmart the genre. For this type of album rappers need to look no further than ice cube's Amerikkka's most and Death Certificate. Dope beats amd rhymes with a message. Not this overly preachy shyt. This is same mistake that krs one made in the 90's. Hopefully he bounces back stronger the next go round because the kid is talented.
How is this album overly preachy when the most of its content is Kendrick dealing with fame. Content wise this album isn't as "preachy" as a Mos Def record or a Dead Prez. Is it because the soundscapes of the album deviate from today's predicable 808s but takes elements from traditional black music?
Outside of Blacker The Berry I just don't get this overly pro black preachy narrative y'all forcing.
