If you live in a pro-drake internet dweeb echo chamber or if you only gauge popularity by spins at Magic City, than of course you're going to think Kendrick didn't have a fanbase and they just started becoming dot fans exclusively because of the Drake beef. Two things can be true. Many folks rock with Not Like Us and just wanted to be part of the cultural moment, so they took that trip to LA to see the show. True. Sometimes you gotta pop out and show nikkas. And he did just that. BUT ALSO, he's had multiple platinum selling albums and grammy's independent of this beef. Some of them Platinum selling albums featuring "boring fake hotep jazz rap". 
And on top of all of this, he's been the voice and representative of the West. Once again, the silent majority is showing who the culture rides with. He doesn't HAVE TO be all on the webs being seen all the time like the other guy. He'll drop an album....any album and the ppl that rock with him will like it. He doesn't have to region hop neither. Just do his fave genres and put out eclectic music. GKMC is seen as an album of the generation. But ppl want to live in their delusions.

Game must feel like the biggest goofy in Cali. He 100% should’ve been there but he went against the home team. Crazy because most would say that The Documentary brought back the West in 05. All bruh had to do was be neutral but it was obvious that he chose a side.
