The line about Trayvon. White people love to bring up black on black crime to avoid talking about systematic racism against blacks. That line there was for his white fans, similar to his comments in that billboard interview or whatever it was.
nikka what self-rightous white person will listen to this and agree with it

Plenty of suburban white kids will listen to this song and say, "yeah he's right. blacks need to address their own issues before blaming the white man..." etc. This is a feel good song for white people, masquerading as a pro-black song.

I think this is his take on the, "Angry Black Man," mythos that the U.S. has given the world. It's a, "this is the monster you want me to be," song but just because he sound angry doesn't mean it isn't a pro-black song. If he had done this with a softer tone then I agree it would be kinda c00nish. And the Trayvon line was hypocritical just like he said it was and I assume meant it to be. As sad as it was, in the eyes of the "Angry Black Man" that America has created, how can you mourn a brother killed out of racism when black men are portrayed as killing each other for less than that. Racism is about fear and hate...two things that would drive someone to kill another living creature. As outraged as he knows he should be, he himself has killed his own people for less than that.

Whether or not that is true, someone needs to check the black community as well.
1. The people that will be saying "yeah he's right. blacks need to address their own issues before blaming the white man..." are already saying it, they haven't put too much thought into it and Kendrick Lamar can't help them.

2. "Global relationships" and "local relationships", for the lack of better terms, i.e. white on black and black on black issues are just us important. I don't know why one can't check the problems within his own community.

Yes most people are victims of oppressions, but to move us forward quicker we need everyone to be onboard. We can't just wait for politicians and shyt to help moufukkers. Addressing issues in your own home will work as a catalyst for the jobs of the politicians or vice versa.

:russ: You have to be trolling. Lets start with the title. What does "The blacker the berry" mean?

k.

virtually all rappers are c00ns in some way. they know that whites are the ones who buy music and go to concerts. if you think they don't say and do certain things to appeal to white sensibilities, then you're delusional.

:patrice:don't know how to feel about this song. I like K Dot but is song this soft c00nin. He said alot of Black stereotypes, and deflected the Trayvon Martin issue with the Black on Black crime shyt.
First off if you are a black man and they believe you killed someone it's not going to take them months just to arrest you. Black people talk about violence in our communities all the time, so people need to stop with this narrative that we don't. I'm disappointed that Kendrick is coming with these White Supremacist talking points in his music.
I must be in a alternate universe or something because Kendrick is spittin c00n shyt and Waka Flocka is spittin real shyt:francis:
