I'm not saying there isn't. Maybe what I'm asking for is rappity raps where he sounds like he's lost in the rhymes and in the moment. Most of the raps on Mr. Morale are approached in a calculated way which makes sense in a songwriter way like the way he uses repetition. Like the whole lack of quotables criticism which I think is reachy in general but has some truth to it is mainly due to his strength as a songwriter. The nature of diss songs is to have more quotables but still. Mr. Morale still felt somewhat dumbed down to me in a way.Mr Morale has some really GREAT rapping on it though. N95, Rich Spirit, Count Me Out. All great rapping performances. Even something like Father Time, which is heavily conceptual, has some great bar and flow work.
