Can't remember the last time an album release felt like such an event.

Probably DAMN lol

You can argue Drake but Drake's albums just feel like content dumps. And I ain't hating on Drake, i like his music, but his albums are just a collection of songs. Kendrick's releases feel like what I imagine it felt like when Stevie, Prince or Bob Dylan dropped albums at their peak. It's the combination of critical acclaim and commercial success which is very rare in this era.

For better or for worse (mostly worse) Kanye’s Donda rollout was the music event of the year last year. Album was mediocre as hell but with those listening events Kanye had the world in his grasp for those three months.

Either it’s extreme nut hugging or people really aren’t fans of rap like they say they are on this board cause this just isn’t true

Was about to say this. Kanye was selling out arenas playing unfinished albums while everyone was watching lives streams from his website And YouTube while streaming the process of creating it while he was living in a football stadium.

it was huge!! Album was subpar though but an event nonetheless

Donda's roll out was dope but there was a freak show element to it and expectations were more muted than usual with Kanye because his last couple of releases were below par.

Now MBDTF is probably the GOAT hip hop album roll out...that shyt was crazy. As were most of Kanye's album releases.

Do we know if its dropping midnight ET?

Drake dropped at 3AM ET last couple projects. I'm guessing to mitigate server traffic.

Oklama is the moniker k. Goes by now, apparently meaning The People, he is for, check his own twitter

Don't think that's the name of the label... the guy in your post is making a difference between the new album (by oklama) and his previous material as kendrick lamar
