Another overrated project? Seems like it, by the reviews

I'm a fan of dude but did a fair amount of skipping on this project. I respect this ambitiousness of it, but this is definitely not the kind of album I'll have on repeat. Perhaps I haven't given it enough of a chance, but I'm not intrigued enough to force the issue. I'm under the impression some people are calling it genius just cuz its trendy to do so.

I appreciate what he did on this album. Personal. Truth revealing.
But it's not good music. It's more him just stating his ideas.
Going from track to track I find it hard to focus on what he's even saying. I love Kendrick but this album isnt that good.
There's been a lot of of music in the past that got personal and controversial it still has the balance of being music. Biggie Suicidal Thoughts. Even Kendrick on Duckworth.

I think that's what Kendrick lost on this one. Wanting to express himself but forgetting it's an art.
This is how I feel bruv

This is another masterpiece of an album. Didn't fully connect on the first listen, but the 2nd and further-after listens......wow mane :wow:

I really fukk with this album like a lot, and at the same time I can see why some people wouldn't like it also.

Listening the first time around my ear was just kinda trying to follow where he was going with the album.
Listening the second time around knowing what to expect it came together. A lot of people have said the same,

I think the Heart 5 also threw a lot of people off as they were probably expecting a continuation of that sound on the album.

After 20 listens I still don't know where to put this in his discography. By itself, it's a great album. Only song I don't care for is Purple Hearts. Everything else is solid to classic
(We Cry Together Kendrick reached another artistic peak

N95, Silent Hill, and Rich Spirit are bangers
Mother I Sober :mjcry: that's vintage long introspective track Kendrick)

I'd give it an 9 out of 10

Yeah, there was clearly some stuff like N95 and the Drake/Ye reference that shows that some work was done recently.

I'm guessing there was probably another version, but the pgLang video that even references Big Steppers and has the therapist on there shows that they thought it was good to go.

This is Keem talking to Kendrick
Do you think Keem is an industry plant in a way?

They said when he first came on the scene and was on the black panther soundtrack he claimed he just sent a tape it tde and got on but didn't mention he was Kendrick's cousin.
