I wouldn't go as far as this fate of rap is in play take but I do agree that Kendrick and Drake represent each side of rap music.

I usually don't but I've watched some youtube reactions to both latest disses and youtubers were usually bopping and vibing to Drake's track while they had to sit and listen to pay attention to Kendrick's lyrics (granted MTG ain't a track to bop to :mjlol: )

I feel the rap fans who grew up with the genre or went to college in the 2010s do not value lyrics as much as they do beats and flows. In a sense, they see rap more as pop music that you can enjoy because the beats and the flows carry a song efficiently.

That's how I explain the popularity of Drake, Future, Gunna, Thug, Duck, YoungBoy and others who are nice with melodies but don't really rap (to me at least). It also feels like this sentiment has now taken over most media/publications.

Most reactors were like "I don't know who's winning !" even though they all acknowledged MTG cut way deeper. And I'm sitting there like how is it a tie then ??? :dwillhuh:
Like I said, Drake's diss record was meant to get the people go crazy with the lyrics being displayed on the video. Problem was that there was no hard hitting bars so you pretty much had a regular Drake song.

Contrast to MTG, where people looked shocked, shook, and speechless :pachaha:

My guess some reactors don't want to be attacked in the comment section, so they just call it even. :yeshrug:

This is a classic hip hop song and diss. It’s been a long time that I heard a song that had me on the edge of my seat. Not only it’s overly dark and disrespectful but this is an incredible piece of art with a high level of creativity and execution that only Kendrick can pull off.

He was using different voice inflections for each person he addressed. The stuttering flow he had towards the end of the 2nd verse was insane. The echos on the you lied last verse…was bone chilling.

This sounds like something Andre 3000 would make if he turned to the dark side and became evil.:demonic:

This sounds like you’re down in the pits of hell watching Drake and his family in a therapy session in front of a silent audience. :wow:

Except for the one goofball in the back row that keeps yelling AUBREY! over and over :heh:

Dr Kendrick S01 Episode 4: Meet The Grahams :wow:

Episode 5? :ohhh:
