The video could have been shot better though. The shyt look like he gave his homeboy a video camera and they made a quick little video in the hood. To be a big budget artist video it look like he couldn't afford lighting for the night shots! And whats up with that old school square Tv look? That left out so much more visuals for the video to be seen.

The video in my head is way better than the one he came up with.

I think they might have filmed it with an iPhone, but didn't turn it sideways

The latest album that blended funk/experimental shyt perfectly was D'Angelo's. It's harder for a rapper because half the time it just sounds like they're talking over the beat if they aren't rapping.

And you hit the nail on the head by saying "Quik influenced". There is better versions of this kind of shyt in half of Quik's discography, and Kendrick doesn't have a melodic voice to accompany it.

music videos suck nowadays
