Mickey Factz is Lupe’s homie. They have friendly rap battles via Twitter once per month.

Not saying Mickey doesn’t have credibility but he’s clearly biased. ESPECIALLY if he’s saying that Lupe outclasses K.Dot in Swag rap. That’s absolutely crazy. Kendrick swagged ALL OVER Damn. Lupe hasn’t really had any “swag” since The Cool...

Both rappers are lyrical. That’s not up for debate. Lupe is a better technical lyricist than Kendrick, Because by his own admission, he ONLY cares about that part of the craft.

Kendrick cares about it ALL. Lyrics, concepts, production. It’s a goddamn shame that Atlantic virtually destroyed Lupe’s enthusiasm for music, but that doesn’t give him right to accuse Kendrick of the cardinal sin of biting.

I know it sounds cliche but I think Lupe is hating. He can rationalize it however he wants but Kendrick really IS everything Lupe WOULD HAVE been if Chilly didn’t go to jail and if Atlantic had’ve given him creative freedom after The Cool. The Cool sold 900K with two hit singles and Atlantic told him to go pop. When the truth is that Lasers would’ve been a commercial success WITHOUT those bullshyt bubblegum tracks. I feel bad for Lupe, I truly do. And I commend him going to war with the label. But none of that shyt is on Kendrick.

Them nikkas need to settle it on wax once and for all. I wanna see that shyt for real

Big up to you Zig for at least saying this just looks like hating cause I know you're a fan of Lupe. There's Lupe stans on here that won't admit it for shyt.

This thread is weird as hell. Lupe is not that complicated he just has a lot of entendres.

This is what happens with rap fans when they are spoiled. Lupe is great because he uses more than the handful of words that most rappers know.

As for storytelling Lupe has that too. Kendrick does songs in a character's perspective and does it alright, nothing amazing.

Meanwhile Lupe on Put you on Game. He Say, She Say, Prisoners. :mjcry:

Saying he's too lyrical is a lazy excuse to broadstroke him out of rapping. You can tell who actually listened to a Lupe album in here and who didn't.

Coli dudes bigging up Lupe and saying that he's better than Kendrick because he's "technically" better also in Eminem threads shyttin on cacs saying Em is the best rapper ever because he's "technically" the best? :jbhmm:

Is this what I'm seeing?:patrice:
I used to be the biggest Lupe Fiasco fan. Seeing what he's become genuinely hurts my heart:mjcry:Lupe was loved back then for the same reason Kendrick is loved now: there was soul and emotion flowing through his music. He Say She Say is literally the same verse twice but from different perspectives. Not the most lyrically dense track, no need to dig deeper than surface level, but real and relatable as hell. Yet Lupe could make a Theme Song to a Driveby and drop world class bars, triple entendres, while still making sure the music took prominence. After The Cool, all this nikka cared about was being lyrical for the sake of being lyrical. The lyrics stopped being a conduit for transcendent music and became an avenue for dude to show just how complex he could rhyme words together. I used to love deciphering Lu tracks because the songs were genuinely enjoyable to listen to in the first place. Now it's a just a case of deciphering it to show you got what the nikka was saying. I listened to Switch and Failure because they're dope songs and catching different similes, extended metaphors, and technical experimentation was icing on the cake. Now I'm playing dude's albums backwards under the light of a full moon because there's a hidden bar that only fans of Yu Yu Hakusho(subbed not dubbed) will get the reference to. I think I remember this guy hyping one of his upcoming songs by claiming how simple it would make one of his previous lyrical for the sake of being lyrical songs sound as opposed for how good the song was in general. You add to all of this his change in delivery, increasingly worsening ear for production, and altogether soulless music and it's crazy to think the guy you were listening to on the mixtapes thru The Cool is the same guy you're listening to after it.

where the fukk did this notion that "lupe has swag" come from :heh:

this battle will be won by whoever has the most vicious bars and best delivery,

not by how much XP you have in each fukkin technical category
:mjlol:

you right

Who has the best beat and the lines that stand out the most. It's rap, not rocket science.

His music has become lifeless and his stans are deifying him solely on how lyrically dense his verses are, not how good his music actually is. I don't care how many obscure references or literary tools he may pack into a verse, it just doesn't move me or sound good to me.
