Do you realize that S80 and GKMC are two totally different albums with different goals?

S80 was intended to be an album dedicated to the lost generation of the 1980s-early 90s.

GKMC was a personal record, meant to get Kendrick's long-hidden demons off his chest so he can carry on with his life. It's one of the most confessional hip-hop albums I have ever heard.

If you're a Kendrick fan and can't vibe or support what he did with this album, then that's sad.



And you wanna talk about bangers? m.A.A.d city is one of the best west-coast bangers of the last decade.

I dont know about it being a person album or all that BS. I just know its no Doctors Advocate, GRODT, Knocs Landing, Murder Weapon, Thy Kingdom Come, ATSOL, 40 Days & 40 Nights.. Its mediocre. Even for the westcoast.

A lot of people were wondering by Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q weren't album. My theory as to why Ab and Q blew up the way they did was because they were both featured on Overly Dedicated and Section 80 which are the projects that made K Dot blow up.

I think K Dot gave Jay Rock his "I owe you one" by letting him be the SOLE tde feature on his major debut album....and he RIPPED it.

I can;t believe he pulled off a story/concept album and NOTHING sounds forced to push the story further, this album is fukkin amazing. To clarify the dudes with the hoodies on when he was seeing Sherane are the same dudes who had the little piece when they shot someone up...and it was a gang initiation random killing? Or retaliation from when they robbed the house?
