today's favorite song...love the airiness of this, the understated production

I got so many theories and suspicions
I'm diagnosed with real nikka conditions
Today is the day I follow my intuition
Keep the family close-get money, fukk bytches
I double parked the Aston in the red
My mama told me that I'ma work myself to death
My girl told me don't let these hoes get in my head
My world been ecstatic, I checked the signal that read-

buzzing, radars is buzzing
yah yah, yah yah, yah yah, yah yah, yah yah

I can't see white people listening to that album and enjoying it. I could see if it was a universal album but it's not. Almost every song he's speaking on the behalf or directly to black people. What songs off that album do you listen to?
You do kbow that people all over the world especially outside of America listen to music in languages that they don't even fully understand right?

:stopitslime:Without all the hate, honestly what in the world do people see about Kendrick Lama? I don't get the 2Pac comparisons:hhh: if anyone is to be compared to him from the past I would say he's more akin to Common:ld: or A Tribe Called Quest than anywhere near 2Pac. Apart from them both being black and representing Cali, neither one has anything else in common.:yeshrug:

Please explain to me all of the manufactured hype around this guy?:mindblown:

as a long time fan, I've always aligned him to Tribe & Outkast rather than Pac.

Kendrick is more Andre like than Pac. West Coast Andre but with actual solo albums

With that being said though get the fukk out of the thread, fools like you always try to be broken records and get your Sir Biatch on. Your gonna keep repeating a question over and over like a woman? That is shyt woman do.. What kind of answer do you expect from us with that stupid ass question

Yall keep disrespecting one of the few emcees in this mcdonalds generation who works his ass off and puts out quality music.....whether its for you or not at least salute the fact he is not a singles rapper like most of his peers

I'm not shocked your talking about "manufactured hype" everytime someone goes from underground to big all of a sudden people tired of them and hate the "hype". You do it with every rapper and every singer for decades there is something about music fans and being too wishy washy.

"Ole i listened to Migos back in 2008 when they were underdogs ass nikkas" shut the hell up

No one says that Migos and Future are manufactured hype.

And I prefer Kendrick over them but he isn't as organic as those guys and the hype does seem manufactured at times

I really can't believe how BLACK PEOPLE can't accept an album (TPAB) that tells them to love and accept their Blackness, because it isn't Trap enough. What the fukk?

That's kinda how black music has worked for decades. Consider the shifts from blues to jazz to rock to r&b+funk to hip hop. Black people kinda move on when white people start fukking with something too much. Hell just think about how a lot of black people stopped fukking with Prince when he got more experimental.

TPAB is a jazz funk record. It's BLACK music. So naturally when I hear black people here call it "a white album" I want to punch someone. But hey...if the Coli existed in 1986 people would be saying "Kiss is the only song for black people on Parade" smh.

One more thing I will say...I think many white people really like rap albums that mix various genres together. Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, The Love Below, Graduation, MBDTF, TPAB etc all feature instrumental production and varied sounds/concepts and genre bending shyt..and they're some of the best reviewed/received rap albums ever. A lot of white people generally dismiss rap by itself, and the only way to get their attention is with something "musical." Because they don't consider hip hop "musical" unless it has heavy live instrumental use (or a white rapper...). Chalk it up to the long history of white people dismissing black talent/genius unless it meets their standards.
