I'm not even a kendrick fan but this shyt should have been cleared up way before today

now tde top dawg on twitter on some passive aggressive shyt like the day of "kendrick never actually confirmed an album for the 7th" when the whole damn hip-hop world was talking about the shyt 2 weeks ago and he had a chance to clear up the date

Top is not the one to blame, his behaviour is trash but he never acted like that before signing to Interscope, dude was legit.

That's the thing tho, was it even delayed? His response to that guys tweets pretty much confirms the line in The Heart 4 was originally about Humble, we were only supposed to hear that yesterday, the 14th was more than likely always the album release date.

I don't know...the insider we have here says they're facing clearance issues.

But it could also be the single, masilia did leak it very early and that shyt was all over ktt. They did this with Weeknd singles too

Humble was originally supposed to drop on the 7th with the album a week later, but someone leaked the artwork and they just said fukk it and released it.

It's pathetic but this has been how he has handled nearly every TDE launch. It's always weird drama and bullshyt. And then getting on twitter and laughing at fans. Meanwhile the rest of the label is QUIET as fukk. Kendrick hasn't even said shyt about the 14th. Dave Free (manager) hasn't said anything. This is Top on another power trip.

I heard people say a sample wasn't cleared so that's why it was delayed...bullshyt lol. Interscope doesn't play that. They have this shyt handled. He's got fukking U2 on the album and you think Interscope forgot to handle a sample clearance lmao? The budget is wide open for Kendrick.

April 7th was a perfect date too. One week before Coachella. A week or so before the NBA playoffs. No noteworthy albums releasing (sorry Joey). And it's before the Easter holiday weekend. Instead they're gonna release the album on Good Friday, a couple days before Kendrick's performance. How does that make sense?

I realize Top made the dream come to reality, he financed the machine etc etc....but you gotta admit he's a liability. Kendrick gonna be fine, he'll sell at least 350k first week. Q will be fine. But the rest of the label is fukking up due to this dude. Punch or Dave Free should be in control. Yea they already basically handle the business but they still gotta get Top's ok. That needs to end....

But you are goddamn crazy if you think K.Dot, Soul, Or Q will view Top as a liability at his point, and that's directly because of what you already pointed out.

Top Dawg took those young men out of fukked up situations and put them on sold out shows, magazine covers, and Grammy stages. Without Top Dawg Kendrick Lamar might be another Compton statistic, either dead or in jail. I'm not saying I agree with all of his moves because sometimes they seem ill thought out. But what that man DID mastermind is faaaaaarrrrrr more important than a week delay on an album whose lead single is set to debut within the top 2 on Billboard...

The only person who came out claiming that the actual album would drop on the 7th is Rosenberg. Who, in all fairness DID say he confirmed that with Top Dawg.

So...either Rosenberg was lying or the album really was planned for the 7th and nobody really knew Humble was going to blow up like it did and they had to make a last minute decision to delay it to push the single more.


What I find "fishy" about the situation is, you love got Kendrick Lamar on a Mike Will Made It Beat. You drop a FIRE ass video the same day....and your NOT expecting a hit from your premiere artist that makes no sense.

That'd be like J.Cole getting a fire ass Kanye beat and dropping a Hype Williams directed video the same day and Roc Nation being surprised that it's a big deal...

Read through all the comments. Both sides are making good arguments as to why it is legit or why it isn't.

If this is real though i cant lie seems kind of underwhelming, What communities in Compton seem to sum up these album titles? Maybe im stereotyping but ... ehh

Someone else from this thread mentioned the likely hood of this being real, and I couldn't agree more. Primarily, the most notable features of this potential album cover are the similar font style used, the title and the red color, and the overall picture itself. TL: DR at the bottom.

The font style is strong but questionable at the same time, in that it is the same style used for the tracklisting on GKMC, TPAB, and in this leak (the first two being hand written by Q himself). History repeats itself so to speak, and if Kendrick has done it twice, it would be of no surprise to do it a third time. Unfortunately, the image is blurry to the point of being unrecognizable at first, but the font lettering for certain letters like the E's could be argued for being identical according to other users arguments, but I can't tell for the moment.

The track listing for 14 songs with HUMBLE being the 8th track sort of emphasized that this could be real due to this album cover being leaked one week ago, but it could be a lucky guess on the Photoshopper. Also, the title of "The Other Communities" is interesting because not only was it something Kendrick Lamar said in an interview recently with NY Times, but it also references to how Kendrick wants to go back to his roots in Compton (highly referenced in the song Momma). The color red holds a lot of significance as well bearing in mind that if Kendrick wants to go back to his roots, one of the more notable ways to convey that message is through the color red, representing the Pirus or Bloods that Kendrick grew up surrounded by.

Finally, looking beyond the color and text, the image itself is vague and confusing, something we haven't seen Kendrick do for a while since the weird yet interesting cover for Overly Dedicated. GKMC and TPAB album covers now make sense, mostly revolving around either a song in the album (Wesly's Theory with a Compton swap meet by the White house) and a purple minivan in front of some houses (arguably the most important thing in the GKMC story). Both are drastically different from each other, and this cover leak would keep this theme true. It is also argued that due to the extreme oddness behind what this image means, it could be too vague for Lamar's usual standard of doing things, but again it's arguable.

TL:DR: I believe this album cover is the real thing, and if I am proven wrong so be it, but if I'm right, then that's cool too.

EDIT 2: The title itself "The Other Community" brings up a point potentially, where people who aren't from "normal society" wouldn't know what it's like to live in this other community, and maybe people who don't know what to call it would call it "the other community", as if they were completely different or isolated from society. Sounds familiar?
