breh.

This is the same label that secretly signed Kendrick to Aftermath and pretended he wasnt signed until he had enough buzz. They announced it...no one cared....pretended he was still indie...then re-announced it some years later.

They have a reputation of astro-turfing their artists. TDE is the reason SZA got her first mixtape premiered on Complex, lets not be blind here.

She had 0 before them and this article is full proof of that.
The article isn't proof of that because it came out after she got signed.

Either way they did a poor job with her and if I was her manager or in her corner I would suggest she leave when that shyt is through. I know that she thinks about it because she tweeted about quitting music and what not. They got talent over at TDE but do a piss poor job at releasing albums and marketing their acts.

Well actually the story goes they found her at a show sponsored by clothing line 10 deep when she was working with them. Her friend was playing her music and Punch asked her what that was and the friend told them how it was SZA's music. At the end of the day she still had a buzz before signing with them and was buzzing on the blogs. That I won't even argue with you over. At the end of the day my point still remains the same and that is, TDE is not marketing or pushing her correctly.
ehh...i wouldn't say she had a buzz, even with TDE she still doesn't. while them sitting on her hasn't helped her, she also hasn't really connected with a bigger audience.

Well that's your opinion but what I think you mean is her breaking through, she has not broken through but that is not what I mean by buzz. What I mean is that she was all over blogs and getting a lot of love on soundcloud before her official signing on Top Dawg was announced even if they may have been pulling strings for her. Though I agree at the moment she is not buzzing currently and them siting on her is hurting her. When she dropped Teen Spirit and first signed to TDE she had a buzz and her name was buzzing. She even has videos with millions of views and does shows so she does have a following but she could be bigger so the last part of your statement I agree with too.

ehh, i measure buzz by what i see fans clamoring for. tinashe had buzz via blogs and shyt but when it came to building a real fanbase with real people, it didn't translate - people aren't really checking for her. sza is the same IMO, she's not connecting to the people who would be her base. you got a chick like teedra moses who dropped 13 years ago has never had mainstream success but who has a solid fanbase, sza doesn't have that

It's pathetic but this has been how he has handled nearly every TDE launch. It's always weird drama and bullshyt. And then getting on twitter and laughing at fans. Meanwhile the rest of the label is QUIET as fukk. Kendrick hasn't even said shyt about the 14th. Dave Free (manager) hasn't said anything. This is Top on another power trip.

I heard people say a sample wasn't cleared so that's why it was delayed...bullshyt lol. Interscope doesn't play that. They have this shyt handled. He's got fukking U2 on the album and you think Interscope forgot to handle a sample clearance lmao? The budget is wide open for Kendrick.

April 7th was a perfect date too. One week before Coachella. A week or so before the NBA playoffs. No noteworthy albums releasing (sorry Joey). And it's before the Easter holiday weekend. Instead they're gonna release the album on Good Friday, a couple days before Kendrick's performance. How does that make sense?

I realize Top made the dream come to reality, he financed the machine etc etc....but you gotta admit he's a liability. Kendrick gonna be fine, he'll sell at least 350k first week. Q will be fine. But the rest of the label is fukking up due to this dude. Punch or Dave Free should be in control. Yea they already basically handle the business but they still gotta get Top's ok. That needs to end....

Teedra Moses has a solid fanbase compared to SZA? :hhh: To each there own. Don't get me wrong I know Teedra Moses has a fanbase but I don't think it's bigger than SZA. Look at the numbers even.

SZA biggest video is pushing 5 Million with Babylon. Teen Spirit is also pushing 5 M's and that's her by herself like 3 years ago. Teedra Moses biggest video by herself is 2 million views and she needed Kaytranada to push past SZA to 6 million while it was out even longer at a total of four years.

I mean SZA even been on bigger shows and everything. I'm not above correction and maybe I'm wrong but I don't see how Teedra Moses has a bigger fan base when I went on twitter and searched from the dates of 4-5 to 4-7 and saw more tweets for SZA including a few by people named SZA's Baby Daddy and SZA's Album. I even seen a fan or two that drew her so I feel she is at least bigger than Teedra Moses but she does need to establish a bigger and better fan base and it's all TDE's fault that she has not done so yet.

@Piff Perkins

You think Kendrick was that certain that Humble was going to be a massive hit, where he set aside the 7th for it's release ?

:whew:

& Why they still holding on to the album title , art & tracklist ?

This is all mystery brehs

I hate TDE even more over this shyt

like you are sitting back laughing at your own fans, the people who got you where you are on some "Haha kenny didn't say an album" type shyt

Ok so I guess that's why :patrice:

Humble was originally supposed to drop on the 7th with the album a week later, but someone leaked the artwork and they just said fukk it and released it.

I'm not even a kendrick fan but this shyt should have been cleared up way before today

now tde top dawg on twitter on some passive aggressive shyt like the day of "kendrick never actually confirmed an album for the 7th" when the whole damn hip-hop world was talking about the shyt 2 weeks ago and he had a chance to clear up the date

you don't get to play that "we never said nothing" card :scust:
