Yall gonna kill me for saying this but personally i think Cole's "4 your eyez only" album is better than this Kendrick album.

I just wanted more straight up rapping.

Cole also has an easier time cause he has a doper voice and i feel Kendrick's voice turns people off.

4YEO is a dope album breh, not a bad opinion at all. I personally prefer DAMN because I feel it has bigger highs but the lows are:scust:

I also like the singing skits before the songs, it adds a nice touch.

DNA was dope as hell but just being honest when I say the first half of the album was putting me to sleep. It really picks up in the second half though for the most part. Not too many crazy standouts IMO so feeling a little disappointed but hoping it will grow on me. Still haven't bumped it in the whip so maybe that will help

I was hoping for a hard album but if you accept for what it is, it's pretty good and i am 50/50 on kendrick in general.

It would be one thing if Kendrick was just going left and putting out mediocre shyt...but this nicca is on a completely different vibe than everyone else AND putting out music that is soul grabbing. He's the only nicca who can jump on a trap beat ('God') and use trap ad-libs but make a song that is the furthest thing from a trap record.

This album takes me back to copping 'It Was Written' as a teen in '96 and knowing I was listening to hip hop at it's pinnacle. From beats to rhymes. This is the pinnacle of rap music in 2017. Nobody is spitting like this from a creative and conceptual standpoint...and over superb production.

I remember watching Kendrick perform on MTV2 when he was first getting buzz and thinking this lil nicca was wack. No presence, no charisma, mediocre music and he was Gary Coleman short. To see him evolve into legitimately one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time is both stunning and inspirational. Good dudes CAN win...music with a message CAN take hold of the masses. It's a beautiful thing to witness.
