Jesus Christ man Ye at one point was my favorite rapper but why the fukk do people talk about MBTF like it's his best work. I can name 10 other CDs I rather listen too that came out since then.

That shyt is the most puzzling "classic" ever. shyt wasn't even a game changer to me idk

Please. You're all over the place. nikkas will freely shyt on Drake for using writers but in the same breathe laud MBTDF as a masterpiece when everybody from Consequence to Big Sean to Cyhi the Prince was writing for him. MBTDF like GKMC after it was the "event" far outweighing the actual product.
Difference is ye acknowledges he has writers lol. Also ye has said that he gives credit to people who even correct a spelling or contribute just one word. Kanye will always be respected more tham drake because he's honest, is an all time great producer and has 4 classic albums. All those writers drake has and he hasn't given us an album in the same realm of mbdtf, lr, gkmc and tpab.

There is a difference between accomplishments and astonishments. Just keep that in mind.

I'm not mad. I'm laughing.
:blessed:

Kendrick drops another critically acclaimed album while Gates and Thug will languish in obscurity
in a few years. Time is cruel :yeshrug:
Y'all always lean on the fact that these white publications that get paid to write reviews rate the album highly.

It means nothing at all.

6 months from now Thugga verse on Sacrifices will be quoted more than any deep, layered, complex verse on this album

The Good Friday/Easter album thing is cute and all...

But why didn't Kendrick just drop the double album on one day as "Damnation"?

This is like releasing "Good Kidd" on Friday and "Maad City" on Sunday. In theory it looks creative but that is doing too much.

nikka what did I write to you, I said "Verbose essentially means too wordy".

They are not too wordy, and if you are finding it to be that way maybe you are challenged.

I didn't say the words were difficult to understand because they are not but he does not use too many words and if you think he is maybe you are simple.
Bro. Kendrick has way too much filler. He's compensating for being a poor writer.

Look at prime Hov for an example. He was verbose but he wasn't excessive.

Kendrick sounds like he never does a rewrite or a second draft.

It's like he thinks this is slam poetry and not music.

It's a chore to listen to him. There's little enjoyable about this.

It's the clinging to technicals over style and mood that keeps him out of my top ranks.

There's Hopsin then there's Gunplay. Y'all stay trying to pretend we don't grasp the themes here.

Maybe he's not that deep and he's not that nice.

I've heard more impressive T.I. verses in the last 6 months than the stuff y'all are claiming Kendrick is doing right now.

That hype machine is serious.

...and I like this album more than anything else he has done.

The average party going rap fans doesn't read reviews. Reviews are for internet hardcore forum geeks. Paying for reviews would make no sense. Views got panned yet its 4x plat.
