The fact you think fukking Kevin "I support Stacey Dash" Gates is fukking "Real Rap" is
a fukkin joke breh.
The idea of someone even havin that bullshyt in their head tells me, I can only take Hip-Hop discussion
so serious on The Coli.

Kevin "I gotta white cuban sayin all types of N***as in my face" gates is a clown, like the living personification of
clown shoes.

Kevin Gates Agrees with Stacey Dash: "I Don’t Feel Like Black Lives Matter... ALL Lives Matter"

fukk Kevin Gates.
fukk his politics.
fukk the two people who fukked to make em.
And fukk anybody who rocks with that clown.

Every time they play that in the club people be rapping that jigga verse.... Kanye does for sure, Tupac I guess it would depend on the song but I get what you're saying
I think Kanye quoteables have dwindled over the years because Rhymefest stopped writing his lyrics.

Cyhi aka im a chip munk like Aaaalvin Prince can only do so much to make this nikka sound lyrical these days.

I don't think kendrick is good at creating ironic catchphrases, using puns, and similes.

But I like his music because he creates a visual and can encapsulate his concepts into songs with words.

If the song is about this it sounds like it's about this and often it's powerful.

Unlike Ross on Accident Murderer

Feel free to disagree as I'm sure most on here won't agree (and are wrong) but Kevin Gates is the most complete rapper doing it (don't think its close), (more debatable) Thug is the most talented.

Agreed with the bolded. Kevin Gates's delivery, songwriting and storytelling > Kendrick's. Kendrick is a little more wiling to experiment with complex conceptual songs whether they come together or not and he has a knack for weaving different concepts together and making them add up to a cohesive whole on his albums.

Kevin Gates doesn't really have a concept track to his name, he's very rarely abstract although he often uses wordplay that is pretty obscure in terms of Hip Hop in general but not when framed in Louisiana culture (i.e. his witchcraft wordplay on the first verse of "Sit Down"). He has topical tracks but they're always in the context of his personal life, his music is almost entirely introspective which works because he can communicate the emotion behind his experiences very well. I can't remember a single reflective track that Gates has ever made in his post jail (2011) career. To an extent it's one of the main conceits of being a "gangsta rapper"... your music is expected to never leave the trappings of your "reality".

Kevin Gates is more raw and better able to translate emotion into the punch of his music, in a lot of ways he's a more polished rapper than Kendrick. Kendrick such as he can though is able to make both introspective and reflective music which gives him a little more creative range than a rapper like Gates. I understand why somebody would like Kendrick more lyrically than Kevin Gates although I agree that Kevin Gates technically speaking (delivery, lyricism, etc.) is the most complete rapper in the game right now.

What does any of this have to do with his rapping?
You're proving my point lol.

Its fairly obvious you're not familiar with his music but speaking on it....what grown man does that? *Gates voice* thats what a bytch a'do
Breh.
I'm not about to even entertain the idea that Kevin Gates is some sort of genius in any capacity.
He's regularly shown himself to be a largely average/mediocre rapper and outside of his chief skill
(rapping) he's shown himself to be a complete and utter fukking idiot.

And trust, it has nothing to do with the subject matter, I'd take a gangster rapper like say Freddie Gibbs or Vince Staples
or School Boy Q as legit contenders album wise to a Kendrick Lamar long before Gates and I imagine most reasonable
posters on here would.
