It's true. Listen to these songs and tell me Keem didn't inspire him

Even though Kendrick makes reference tracks for Keem, Keems energy and youth helped Kendrick have fun making music again

I agree I don't think that's about Kendrick but that sentiment mirrors something Cole said after Control, and what Kendrick basically said on Crown off the new album. The idea that spending all your time fighting over who is the best, who is the king, who is the GOAT etc can take you out of the moment and ruin music for you. To me those lines are clear Kanye shots but who knows.

People who know (Boi-1da, Cardo, etc) say him and Kendrick are cool, and Drake went to Kendrick's Toronto show. I think it's always gonna be competition since they are clearly the two guys of their era...but we'll never see an actual battle. It's too late at this point. I do find it interesting that Drake and Cole are very buddy buddy publicly, whereas you don't see Kendrick with anyone. He's had a close relationship with Cole in the past, dunno if they're still close. I assume so but then again he seems pretty detached from everyone except his collaborators. Which also goes back to the "alone" and competition thing, I guess. Ironically I'm saying this in reaction to a vid of him clowning around with Tyler, who he's close to.
I think kendrick is more of a loner in general. Drake and Cole have industry friends all over and are very willing to meet new people and work with more artists.

Kodak said when he met up with Kendrick that he really brought him in and locked in with him and got to know him, a lot of back and forth communication, not just some random studio link up type shyt that I'm sure Drake and Cole are more willing to do

How can you be “inspired” by somebody your literally CREATING a career for.

If anything Keem is Kendrick’s alter ego. You want “Fun” Kendrick just listen to Keem

His energy. Aura. Youth. Animated personality. Keem has inspired what Kendrick already had in him. Just like how Hit-Boy did for Nas

He brings out or awakens what he hadn't tapped into in a long time

I hated Mr Morale and I hate this shyt he's trying to do with baby keem. I'm concerned that my favorite artist might be gone.
The favorite artist you liked is gone. Kendrick is still Kendrick. He isn't the savior king anymore. The Kendrick you probably admired

His music is still objectively good. There's just a newer evolution of his artistry that has been going on since DAMN

Honestly GOD and LOVE could've fit on Mr. Morale. This isn't a complete detour at all. This is the same Kendrick that made the songs bytch I'm In The Club and Michael Jordan
