Keith Lee skips posting most reviews of D.C. restaurants "It's not constructive"

But to answer your question:

• I completely understand someone reading/watching a review made by a film critic, or a director
• I love watching Andre Mack clips (a black sommelier) discussing his informed opinion on wines and other alcohols.

I DO NOT understand folk watching a former wrestler (or whatever) discuss what take-out spots have the best chicken/fries/etc.

Seems low-brow (i.e. stupid), but to each their own

Why can't you fukkers understand dude does not review 'traditional' sitdown restaurants. I don't even watch homies content, but from the few clips I've seen it's clear his lane is takeout/mom&pop/fast casual type joints in predominantly black locations.

DC of course has 'good restaurants', but his lane not going to Jose Andres or Marcus Samuelsson's latest gastro to give a layup review.

As a multi generation DC Native, I can tell you he told no lies. Customer service at most places is abhorrent + aggression and the menu offerings are weird as fukk.

There's a whole lane of food here where the menu is composed of shyt like 'Henny Frenchtoast' 'Fruity Pebbles Fried chicken' 'Henny Glazed Ribs' .
Even if the menu is more traditional without the flair of henny and cereal, the preparation can leave a lot to be desired...a lot.

The only reason why dude is withholding the names of the restaurants is for his safety. The folks behind some of these spots aren't wrapped too tight upstairs and def have crashouts on tap.

He may need to switch his style up or retire then. I used to film what was called the restaurant report card.. I was thankful they we only went to the higher rated restaurants though. They do RRC in Atlanta too but they run up on restaurants with bad scores and the fukkery is not surprising. You became the man by reviewing restaurants, how you gone review places then withhold the reviews?? That’s crazy. He loved the attention man so him saying he’s not releasing reviews helps him get mad engagement. He’s really trying to act humble but he’s not lol. News stations started reporting on him and now all of a sudden we get this from him.

Shrimp looks like they got it off the shrimp cocktail mega pack at Costco that's been sitting in the freezer for a month.

Mac-N-Cheese looks like its some Velveeta with cheddar sprinkled on top to mask the fukkery

Everything you said is true, also these restaurants need to hire professional photographers to take pics for them. Cellphone pics with poor lighting can kill a restaurant. The first look is sometimes the most important thing for a restaurant. How many people would look at that pic and say I’m eating that? Some will but you’ll lose a lot of people because the pic looks bad which in turn makes the food and restaurant look bad.

I’ve lived in the DMV since I was 3-4 years old and I will say if you want a good meal, you need to learn how to cook or go to your mommas house.

My impression is he goes to black owned spots and they're talking about Los Hermanos and shyt.

If you look at his career, it's just mostly Mom and Pop places. The first time I saw him, was at some Pizza placed owned by White folks. In this round, he featured some Asian restaurant and some Hispanics at a food truck serving frito pie (bring your own fritos).

It's just that the went to New Orleans, Houston, Atlanta, and NYC - that folks thinking he's the Black Guy Fieri.

I heard of him for the first time after he went viral for leaving bad reviews in Atlanta. I'm guessing that's his reason for holding back his opinion on bad spots now. He might not want to ruin their business.
