experience is a weird thing.....in a series like you all had against the Bulls it didn't have much of a effect....because the bulls were always a overrated/overachieving team that really didn't have that much experience in the playoffs when you really think about it....they had no deep runs when they weren't dominated 4-1.....they never saw their lives flash before their eyes like the pacers did game 6 vs the hawks and come back from it. They had a number of players that had played in playoff games but never made any serious deep runs or responded to the vultures circling around them for months like the pacers are doing now (much like miami's first championship squad had to do)

Until you watch how a team progresses just from experience alone like the Pacers have these last few years then you really get to appreciate the effect it has. It's like the law of averages a BATTLE TESTED experienced playoff team like the Pacers will alost always find a way to win a series against a team who's supertsrars are green like the wiz....this is why i always was confident against the hawks as well....you'll see with time if you all can keep this core together

I know Wall and Beal will be here. Nene will be there cause no one will take the last two years of his contract.

With Grunfeld still in charge, he probably will keep Ariza/Gortat/Miller together and maybe keep the old guys just cause they are on minimum contracts and not do much else to upgrade the roster. Our Kevin Durant dreams to DC will come to an end in the first week of free agency.

I think this group has peaked together and I do not see Wall becoming a legit superstar in this offensive system. I don't think he'll ever be the guy who will take the shots when his team needs them most. I think that's Brad Beal because of what he's done being the youngest guy in the postseason and making big plays... he nearly got that and 1 last night to perhaps send that to OT :wow:

AARP group could spark Wizards | ProBasketballTalk

WASHINGTON – The Wizards are the youngest team still playing in the Eastern Conference, but they’re not defined completely by their youthful backcourt of John Wall and Bradley Beal.
They also have what Washington coach Randy Wittman has dubbed the “AARP group” – Andre Miller, Al Harrington and Drew Gooden.
In Game 4 against the Pacers on Sunday, the AARP group nearly led the Wizards to victory and the unit could key a Washington comeback trailing 3-1 in the series.
Miller (38), Harrington (34) and Gooden (32) are the Wizards’ oldest players, and they often played together flanked by Beal and Martell Webster. When that lineup entered Game 4 in the second quarter, the Wizards immediately went on a 12-0 run.
“Thank god,” Wittman said. “They kind of saved the day.”
In the three-point loss, the Wizards outscored the Pacers by 19 points in the 15 minutes Miller, Harrington, Gooden, Beal and Webster played together.
That level of success is no huge surprise. That unit was +32 in 151 minutes during the regular season (offensive rating: 116.0/defensive rating: 104.8/net rating: +11.2).

Harrington’s and Gooden’s ability to space the floor could keep giving Roy Hibbert problems. As well as Hibbert has played lately, he’s still vulnerable when pulled from the paint.
But maybe Wittman stuck with the AARP group too long Sunday. Harrington (11 points, six rebounds and three steals), Gooden (10 points, four rebounds and three blocks) and Miller (seven points and four assists) faded late.
And Paul George excelled, overcoming what was on track to be a special night for the AARP group when it left the court for Wall to lead the team down the stretch.
“Sometimes,” Pacers coach Frank Vogel said, acknowledging the Wizards’ success, “you can be undone by a special performance.”

For a max salary player (who's suppose to be the leader of this team) with production of: 11.5 points per game, 31% field goal, 9% 3point field goal, 7.5 assists per game, 3.5 turnovers - the argument weighs heavily in my favor. It's one thing to disagree with the notion that he's largely at fault, it's another to think that stance is totally unreasonable. Wall still that dude tho.

:manny:

They're investing in potential, not production. At the time he received the contract it made sense. He's only 23, no shyt, his inconsistency and broken jumper are frustrating, but he's going to payoff.

Why are you making this out harder than it needs to be?

It's not about what he's going to produce down the line, we're talking about RIGHT NOW, and RIGHT NOW he playing bad, really bad. And for how bad he's playing, and the domino effect it has on the team, as he initiates the offense, has the ball in his hands more than any other player and is the position of 'leading'... he deserves blame for what ever he plays a part in. It's as simple as that.

I don't even know why you'd even bring up something as open-ended of what might happen in the future. It's got 0% to do with what's going on now.

Really bad? get the fukk outta here. He's being inconsistent but we've seen really good play from him for most of the season. I'm bringing up the future because that's what a contract is, an investment.

If you don;t think "11.5 points per game, 31% field goal, 9% 3point field goal, 7.5 assists per game, 3.5 turnovers" is really bad, than you're blind. I don't give a fukk about the investment, we talking about the now which bares no significance to what's going to happen 2,3,4 years down the track... he's playing bad RIGHT NOW and he deserves blame for it RIGHT NOW.

Stop with this foolishness.

I've seen him have good moments and bad moments, unfortunately the bad and inconsistency is outweighing the good in the playoffs, but I don't give a shyt about what the numbers say right now. I think he deserves the contract given his value to the team going forward. The investment will play off in due time. He's playing bad, ok, so make another player. He's all they got as a franchise point guard. They'll have to live with it and let him grow n/h.

Alright I'm done being sad about that last L. I still think we got this shyt or can at least force a game 7.

Wittman should hopefully have realized by now that he needs to play Wall with a Gooden/Harrington front court and maybe even Ariza at PF a lot. Wall does not have any space to do shyt besides shoot that broken jumper when Nene and Gortat big asses are out there with him. Something tells me that jumper is going to look real money tonight tho :banderas:

I wouldn't even be mad if Ariza left since Otto would have an even higher chance of starting in the near future. I know if Ariza leaves tho they'll probably do some dumb shyt like that and trade for Jeff Green.
