I guess the tone mostly. Employee of the Month was my shyt also.


Titanic I'd consider a chick flick, but something like Monster in Law would be more a romantic comedy to me.

And word Monster in Law is dope also

Yeah tone which is why I don't go with Clueless or Mean Girls. They are more about high school culture than anything else. Mean Girls is a complete satire of high school and I wouldn't call it a chick flick. Nor would I call sixteen candles or pretty in pink chick flicks. A chick flick in my mind is a flick that is designed to appeal specifically to women..Sex and the City, Beaches, Terms of Endearment, The Notebook, Waiting to Exhale, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, stuff like that.

Makes sense especially in regards to Mean Girls. Speaking of high school movies though Heathers is in my top 10

I have some flicks I grew to love watching with my mom. Steel Magnolias is probably the definition of a chick flick abs I love that movie. Definitely Maybe with Ryan Reynolds, don't know if it technically falls into that category, but I have to watch it whenever I catch it on. I don't consider Love and Basketball or Love Jones as chick flicks though. Just good movies about black love.:yeshrug:
