Superstar
The Athletic's Jason Lloyd reported Friday that the Cavaliers were "close" to shipping Irving to the desert in a three-team deal with the Indiana Pacers that would have sent Paul Georgeand Eric Bledsoe to Cleveland.
Kyrie read the situation and said two sides can play that game.
As far as the money, his super max in Cleveland was eligible to be 5 years - $200m ($40m annually), his super max in Boston next summer is 5 years - $180m ($36m annually). If he leaves next summer his new team can give him 4 years - $140m ($35m annually). I don't know where you getting that imaginary 80 mil from.
That report was all Indiana leaking that. They weren’t “close” to sending Kyrie to Indiana at all. Indiana was asking for Kyrie in the deal and Cleveland was resisting. The final deal that was essentially agreed upon was the 3way between Cleveland, Denver and Indiana
Cleveland gets Paul George
Denver gets Kevin Love
Indiana gets Gary Harris
That was the deal that was done but then Pritchard nuked it at the last possible min.
And Kyrie isn’t eligible for a super max in Boston. The only team that could offer him that was his original team and only after a certain amount of years/all nba appearances.
